  1. Man, did I really Ownbey David West? I need to be chastened. And I possibly need to electrify the metsmory center of my brain.
  2. Marte and Alonso are the only righthanded hitters in that lineup. It's good to see Jankowski get off the bench.
  3. I first remember him from a profile one of the local stations shot circa 1985 when anything Metsican was news. The Mets apparently had this up-and-coming prospect who loosened up before games by catching and throwing Frisbee-brand flying discs with his feet. Pulled off a 10-year career, including a return to the division with the Phillies in 1996-1998 where he teamed with Ruben, Jr.
  4. Pretty weak sauce to disrespect the ambassador. German-Japanese relations could be impacted.
  5. Yeah, there was that persistent discovery of humanizing elements in the alloy of his douchearmor. It could be annoying in a world that's easier when we divide the black hats from the white hats, but it's as it should be.
  6. =Gwreck post_id=92223 time=1652493522 user_id=56] On the one hand, Cano was the first player the Mets acquired post-PED suspension who turned out to be a dud. Marlon Byrd, Bartolo Colon, and Starling Marte (TBD) were all fairly good signings.
  7. Peterson throws six innings of shutout ball, Felix Peña and Alex Claudio finish up with three hitless innings as the Mets beat Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 3-0. Syracuse remains in ninth place, but only a half game out of seventh and one and a half games out of fifth in the very bunchy division. Johneshwy Fargas was promoted from Binghamton just before the start and led off the game with a homer to left-center.
  8. Three of the next four batters due up for the Mets are righties, with four lefties on the bench. It'll be curious who Buck pinch-hits for, but he'll probably stand pat unless/until Nido comes up, and then he'll go to Smithsonian.
  9. Otto not showing a lot of affection for the strike zone either.
  10. Summat surprised to see Smith before Otto. Smith just took a bit to find himself. We had two different Drews.
  11. One of these J.P. Crawford things is not like the others. https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2022/05/screen-shot-2022-05-13-at-9.34.53-pm.png>
  12. That's the J.P. Crawford I know.
  13. I'm not OK with the idea of J.P. Crawford as a heavy hitter to be feared.
  14. I'm an aggressive pinch-run advocate, but I don't think I pinch-run there. It's not the sort of thing I would've expected from Buckles.
  15. Seattle Sewald gittin' it done.
  16. Not surprising that Nimmo's hit dropped in. The oufielders are really fighting the rain. Paul Sewald time.
  17. Good job by home-plate ump tonight.
  18. Let's reward that Scherzer for that sack-up by getting him three runs.
  19. Got the triple play ball but one out too late. I'll take it.
  20. Yeah, we're having trouble following up on good first innings, offensively.
  21. Year One: Looked like a guy who had to give up the juice. Year Two: Looked like a guy who didn't have to give up the juice. Year Three: Looked like a guy who got caught on the juice. Year Four: Looked like a guy they really didn't need.
  22. Good one. Also, here's Eugenio Suarez ...
