Yeah, a lot of catchers are looking silly in that. I hope they are getting well paid for it, because Yadier Molina should have his own trademarked silhouette on big league catching gear.

Stomach cramps. Every time he stretched his core during his windup, it hurt like hell, and the flinches were affecting how he was finishing his pitches, and he was afraid he was gonna hit somebody. He'll get prescribed fluids and be 100% tomorrow. I'm totally right about this.

Sweet. Mets back in the lead. Edman gets nowhere near the ball in the hole. If these hit-batsmen lead to another on-field confrontation, Stubby would do well to stay home.

These delayed injury checks and replacements are getting weird. Letting Tommy Edman run into the clubhouse, get his glove, and then come out take warm-up grounders and stretch is kind of goofy. The guy got hurt in the last half inning. Get ready in case he needs to come out.

As for the Smith-expendability, it strikes me that these Cards may be in the shortstop market and taking a look at Guillorme.

The booth talked through it a couple of days ago. I don't quite remember, but it had something to do with it being easier to pop replacement sod tiles in and out when there is a soccer game or something.
