  1. Admire the way this Hernandez guy comes in on the righthander.
  2. PA playing Prince & the Revolution during the pitching change.
  3. I'll hand this to Worley --- he's out there in short sleeves. Minnie announcers are lamenting his inability to finish anybody off. That with two strikes, he just gives up foul balls until the batter gets one to drive or gets ball four. Then he said it was the same with Pelfrey. Yes it was.
  4. Haven't seen this much Rick Anderson since 1986. Good omen!
  5. Mets sign ex-Yankee lefty Sean Henn April, 12, 2013 MINNEAPOLIS -- The Mets have signed left-handed reliever Sean Henn to a minor league contract, Baseball America reports. Henn, 31, last pitched in the majors in 2009 with Baltimore and Minnesota. He began his career with the Yankees. Henn made 15 relief appearances with Triple-A Tacoma, a Seattle Mariners affiliate, last season. He was 3-0 with a 3.64 ERA in 29 2/3 innings through May. He reportedly then continued in South Korea. I like how he "reportedly" continued. Like independent evidence isn't available. Not a true Yankee, I hope.
  6. Could probably use the help more in the outfield, but I doubt he's up to that.
  7. Probably prohibitively expensive to keep it in baseball shape for one-three appearances per year.
  8. Looks like the field is going to be cleared.
  9. Too many dirty jokes come to mind. Must resist. I already feel terrible about the Frankenstein gag.
  10. It's like the Frankestein family reunion.
  11. Matt Kemp nickname: "The Bison." Carlos Quentin nickname: "TCQ" ("The Carlos Quentin") We'll see, bitch.
  12. I think the breakage occurred on that initial shoulder to shoulder collision. Listen to Scully building fan sentiment against Mike Piazza in that play-by-play.
  13. Gerry Arrigo's glove, please report for steroids testing.
  14. What's general strategy would you go for? You want to get at least two games in, but that might end up being done by playing the most miserable of doubleheaders in front of 440 fans. There's a mutual day off on May 2. The Mets can fly there between Miami and Atlanta. The Twins would have to come home, but they'd be nearby, in between two road series in Detroit and Cleveland. That could... absoultely not work at all. Hey, did the Mets fly into Minnesota dressed as Lutherans? Peanuts characters? Replacements? Gophers?
  15. Rich Becker is so awesome that his swing pixelates space. It seems I can't make out the name on half those guys.
  16. Take it easy on Ashie, Ashie. The season is young.
  17. All three games.
  18. Currently going .379 / .471 / .483 // .953 in the South Atlantic League.
  19. Who re-animated Joe Grzenda?
  20. Deliberately provocative offday bating article, written to look like something is on the burner that isn't, which they don't fess up to until the bottom.
  21. Signed by the same scout?
  22. From Faith and Fear: "Hefnerrible."
  23. A BB-R WAR of -0.2. Go, Marcum! He might win this one sitting down!
  24. Well, again, we're looking at the team as a whole, not merely the quality of play of the last four games. And yes, I glorify the defeat of the Yankees. You bring down the Yankees, you are an American hero. You deserve parades, holidays, and free shipping and handling for the rest of your days.
