  1. This Harvey guy related to Zeus or Odin?
  2. This Roenicke guy related to Gary or Ron?
  3. Even that tapper by Buck probably is a hit for seven or eight other guys in the lineup.
  4. Mets even hitting crap outside the strike zone.
  5. Wow, looks like the Mets have run into a bad team, playing badly, in bad weather.
  6. Just tunin' in. Is Johan pitching?
  7. There are plusses and minuses either way. Legs, for instance, are much better able to defend themselves than arms. They're stronger and they're weaponized. You can also apply more drag going in feet first to control your slide and keep from oversliding. Furthemore, a feet first slide allows you to reach back if you slide past the bag to avoid a tag.
  8. Suppression of evidence. Nice.
  9. Anybody else notice Matt Kemp pulling his shirt front up and flapping it as if the only way to calm himself down was cool off his groin area? About 2/3 of the way through the Sculy video. Don't tell Keith, but there's a woman in the Dodger dugout.
  10. This might help our cause, 'cept it happened in the offseason.
  11. Somebody get a crowbar out to open the frozen books, and then put this game in them.
  12. Like Frank Poncheirello assigned to desk duty, Wright is denied his cycle.
  13. Los Gemelos share the Mets' love of sea-green seatery.
  14. That inning ended on the Twin broadcast with a shot of young couple as the female turned to the male and seemingly uttered, "Is that enough? Can we go now?" Unfortunately, they cut to the commercial before he answered, "When Hell itself freezes over. We can go then."
  15. Twins sideline correspondent also signs off her reports with "Guys?" Nothing new under the sun. Or under the evening snowstorm, for that matter.
  16. Anaheim Angels, with perhaps the three best offensive players in the league, are down 4-0 to the Astros right now. It's early, but if Houston hangs in there, the Angels will fall to 2-8. Rotation (not such a bad lineup on paper, with C.J. Wilson-Jason Vargas-Jered Weaver-Joe Blanton-Tommy Hanson) just not getting it done on a nightly basis. Hamlton (.543 OPS) neither.
  17. Yeah, that was two YSIII homers in this inning alone.
  18. Nice cowl, Willingham. I hope it has bat ears.
  19. Zvon wrote: I'm still in shock over Buck. Wtf. What hes doin, esp since no one saw it coming, is just crazy. The Mets mayn't have seen this coming, but I'll bet they saw his line-drive rate last year and considered him to be a good grab. God bless these Twinkie fans. If this were YSIII, there'd be more ushers in the stands than patrons.
  20. By the way, great to see Kase posting. Got two hands to work with?
  21. Four hits! Let's get some guys out of there.
  22. I sure love and respect Ron Gardenhose, but bringing a cold lefty into this game to face Buck, the way he's hitting, was throwing gasoline on the fire. Minnie would be back in this game otherwise.
