  1. Disastrous result, but nice cut there by Davis.
  2. And Alvarez takes a cut that would embarrass Valdespin.
  3. McCutcheon, man. He's the reason you have All Star games.
  4. But man, he struck Marte out twice, didn't he?
  5. Nuttin' against Atchy Scratchy, but do we really want his first game back in months to be with the tying run at the plate?
  6. Zvon wrote: Crap. I missed this "defensive gem" from Newy. Howd it look? I don't have MLBTV up cuz this is on TV. No replays on demand It definitely was as advertised. Not bad at all for a guy with a feminine body.
  7. Laggy slamming a Red Bull in the dugout.
  8. Congratulations to Wright.
  9. Well, sometimes it's hard to call off a party.
  10. I've only been with eight or ten of these guys, so I'm not sure.
  11. Ka-blammo. Looks like she's had blood on her hands the whole time.
  12. Well, they ain't got much O --- not much more than the Mets, at any rate --- but Clint Hurdle's team is for real.
  13. That scenario doesn't bode nicely for the Metly futures of Boid, Moiph, and Buck.
  14. Valdespin really has no role on this team. But man... two men on with McCutcheon coming up. Fittest-looking guy in beisbol, and damned good to boot.
  15. Still looking for Mazz's homer. Here's the super play that it set up (and it turn set up his go-ahead walk), with great Gary Carter action. [youtube:1akr0uui]1PH6XJypKno[/youtube:1akr0uui] Both Jackson and Rose (natch) showed up without their full uniforms that year. Jackson ended up going through BP and pre-game warmups, I think, in a Mariners kit. Rose, as you see in that shot, took the field in a tee shirt. Worth noting also that it's like the bottom of the eighth, but look who's in the game: Parker, Rose, Carter... You'd think Carter would be the perennial starter by this time in his career, having at last replaced Bench, but he was actually a substitute. The starter was Bob F. Boone.
  16. Edgardo Alfonzo and Mookie Wilson managing.
  17. Tied up. May be the magick of PNC, but this sounds like a playoff crowd.
  18. Great shots of Bucket and Lunchpail. But really, enough of Pete Rose and Reggie Jackson --- the two most definitive players of the seventies for all the wrong reasons. Let's see some Mazzilli '79 footage.
  19. And Marlon somehow beats out an infield hit for the RBI. Love this man, Metworld. Won't you?
  20. And... he whiffs when all he needed was a hard out.
  21. Big spot for Ike right here.
  22. End of three and 0-2-0 for each team. Torres may turn into a pumpkin soon enough, but so far he's been a revelation.
  23. I don't know, but greetings to Astarte.
  24. Edgy MD presciently on April 23 wrote: Fuck it. She says she's going to grind it out tonight and go to work with a forced smile. Good for you, Mielissa. So all you Peoria-area diners, tip your waitresses well.
  25. Melky Cabrera leaves a lousy tip. I guess that's kind of funny, but whatev... HOLY CRAP! I know that waitress!!
