  1. Kinda sorta hoping they'd've bunted Wright there.
  2. I don't like having to play the prevent defense in the ninth in this park in particular. Get that run back. That's my plan.
  3. Frayed Knot wrote: Pinch-hitters we got. Trustworthy and rested relievers ... not so much. Well, Goeddel certainly is capable of hanging a curve to Stanton.
  4. Sheesh, Terry, they're going to talk about that one.
  5. It's September, man.
  6. Duda finds a seam in right between the infield and the outfield. When does that ever happen? Don't most teams play the rover there?
  7. Wright, man, they let Mike F. Dunn go after you. DUNN!
  8. den Dekker > um, Pridie
  9. Tip your hats to Met #984, Dario Alvarez. And... shit.
  10. That's the way Murphy stays with the play. Kick it, pick it, and flick it.
  11. I assume Jeurys gets the night off tonight. We get some-Buddy-else instead. Might see some Dario.
  12. Nope. It's Satin with the lineout.
  13. Yeah, I liked how Girardi said that, the first four months of the season, Jeter was the most (or one of the most) consistent guy(s) in his lineup. Yeah, he was consistently bad. And now he's consistently worse. You know who's consistent? Me. Insanely so. I've had the same number of hits each game this year.
  14. deGrom, to me, seems like Harvey's approach without Harvey's stuff, showing that the approach is workable all on it's own.
  15. Viva Tejada! There's your education, Tom Koehler! Having deGrom bunt = waste of a good hitter, and now a waste of a RiSP.
  16. Nieuwenhuis > den Dekker.
  17. Marlins announcer #1: "The Yankees are wearing patches commemorating Derek Jeter on their uniforms and hats the rest of the year. I'm sure they'll be forced to wear Derek Jeter Cologne." Marlins announcer #2: "All that stuff, I'm sure, is stuff that Derek Jeter doesn't want." Number two, you're an idiot.
  18. The Brewers might join the Brewers and become the second playoff-bound-but-floundering team ever to can their manager with two weeks to go in the season, entering the playoffs with a dude with "interim" in front of this name.
  19. Question was all teed up for a dozen hours, waiting for somebody to take a swing at it and nobody did. I jumped in, considered the options, and, like JFK, I'm proud to say that I went to Choate. And like Survivor sings, it's too late to turn back now. Rays.
  20. Yeah, well, he was an all-too-willing slave to dark forces whether his number was called or not, and bears a ring to prove it. Nits to him.
  21. You know, Randy F. Choate is a master of getting my goat and doing unspeakable things with it. Not only has he been pitching for decades despite logging approximately 17 innings per year, making him simultaneously the walking embodiment of overspecialization and the walking embodiment of empty extended game times. No, it's that he's walking around with a 2000 championship ring that should only be worn by Men who've played for the Mets. In fact, there's a good chance, with the intended retirement of Derek Jeter at the end of this season (you may have heard about this somewhere), that Choate will be the last surviving 2000 Yankee, and therefore the last active player to face the Mets in a World Series. That's a shameful thing to be, Randy Choate! Who pisses you off... on the Rays?
  22. The Marlins should be wearing a "Stanton Farewell Tour" jersey tonight!
