  1. How about Wilmer Flores? You've got 704 plate appearances at AAA and about 90% of your alleged value is in your bat, and you're batting eighth behind a 20-year-old who's never taken a breath above AA.

  4. It's just about keeping options open. If this was purely about being cheap, well, trade one of them for an actual (and similarly priced) young leftfielder.
  5. I did a search and found any number of articles about cassettes making a comeback, but the why part is almost invariably fudged. They report on why physical formats in general (LPs, CDs, and cassettes) are preferable to some, but they shoot blanks on why some go for cassettes specifically. I did find this story also arguing about the fumbled opportunity that was Awesome Mix: Volume 1. Good for you, Chris Wade of Slate!
  6. It means our team just lost helplessly to the Braves. Simpsons reference, too. [youtube:21ibvhmu]cPcB3vWGO9k[/youtube:21ibvhmu]
  7. Wow, fuck AAA, here comes Dilson. I guess Josh Satin can stop wondering if what the organization thinks of him.
  8. Didn't see this coming. Not sure Travis did either. If it's totally not an option that's being discussed, why are you discussing it, Terry? Addy Rubey wrote: NEW YORK -- Terry Collins told the Daily News that team brass has had informal conversations about moving Travis d'Arnaud to left field, although the manager noted that it was just casual conversation and not some plan. The aim would be to keep dArnaud healthy and avoiding concussions while keeping his bat in the lineup. But as of right now we havent even approached [left field] as an option, because it would have to be go to the instructional league, Collins told the newspaper.
  9. I, for one, welcome our Native American warrior overlords.
  10. I think I saw this movie yesterday. Hope they re-wrote the ending.
  11. I wouldn't think of it as a mixed blessing, but a blessing. I mean, the 51s were in the playoffs last year. Good.
  12. Frayed Knot wrote: Vic Black likely to miss "a few more days", but the MRI on his neck showed only a slight herniation of a disk which is considered to be "no big deal". And rosters can expand as soon as Sunday. Seems like a good plan to disable him anyways and call up a dude. Hitter or pitcher. But what do I know?
  13. That's a good post. I see a thrashing coming.
  14. Askalchafalba.
  15. Nieuwie knows drama, anywhich.
  16. Fredi wins that round.
  17. I understand the bunt, but I fear the whiffy possibilities of the game coming down to Nieuwenhuis-vs.-Kimbrell. Infield in?!
  18. Ball four, no doubt. My name is den Dekker. I am the winning run.
  19. Strike two looked bally to me.
  20. Ball three looked strikey to me.
  21. I am Eric Campbell. I am the tying run. Thank you for the no-doubles dee, Heyward.
  22. That weird arm pose. Kimbrell, cut that out!
  23. Back atcha, Andrelton.
  24. I hate Andrelton Simmons' backhand. Hate it. HATE IT!!
  25. Let's Go, Mets!![/bigpurple] Glugh! Double play.
