  1. THAT wasn't generous!!
  2. I guess I was wrong about Falcone. Generous call maybe on that strike three. Guy looks nervous.
  3. Zvon wrote: YEAAAAAAAA. Ks first 6 batters! Didn't hear for sure but the MLB record might be 8. I remember Pete Falcone once whiffing the first eight.
  4. Juan taking your Twitter questions today.
  5. Nieuwenhuis has got to be getting pissed at this point. What do yo think it is that we don't we know about that guy?
  6. I'm still all over catching and passing both the Marlins and the Braves.
  7. Oh, dearest. [fimg=600:1nhd7isy]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BxinjJsIMAAurlT.jpg:large[/fimg:1nhd7isy]
  8. Adam Wainwright has got to get on the league to his AL colleagues and remind them of their obligation to groove Jeter his pitches. Unless they are grooving, and he's still not catching up.
  9. Yankee fans like wolves more than they care to admit, I guess.
  10. Edgy MD wrote: The funny thing is we've transitioned pretty smoothly over the Steiny years from Guidry to Mattingly to Jeter. Who will take up the banner to represent all that is Yankees about the Yankees? Gardner? Tanaka? I imagine Yankee fans aren't feeling it. There's a feeling out there that MLB has spent so long proclaiming Jeter the one pure lamb in a forest of evil wolves that the whole sport is primed for a post-Jeter letdown. I'm not ready to buy it, but...
  11. Midlantica takes New York, 3-out-of-four in two different towns.
  12. Yeah, the sloppy play (characteristic of both September and rookie-laden teams, but still) doesn't really work with an offense starved for extra-base hits.
  13. Abreu --- two straight pinch-hits.
  14. Games. Hard to win when you don't score.
  15. And it all still adds up to zero runzels. Come on, support your local good pitching performance.
  16. Holy crap! Tony Armas, Jr., was totally a 2008 Met.
  17. Is this Nitkowski I'm hearing? He's good. Sharp and on top of the game. Not as funny as Wayne. And doesn't make the effort to engage Howie when he's on play-by-play. Howie is polite enough to wait for openings, but they don't come that often, so Howie can disappear for several batters at a time.
  18. This game butts.

  20. Times are dire. You see, not only are the teams at the top of the standings doing what they're supposed to do (winning), the teams at the bottom are, alternately, losing. Not only did Wild Card leaders San Francisco and Pittsburgh won four and three in a row, respectively, but the race's top trailer, Milwaukee, is suddenly finding a way to rebound and has won three in a row themselves. Last nights Mets victory helped them gain on fourth place Atlanta and catch fifth place Miami. The division may be beyond even reckoning, but the Mets gained on all three teams there. Worth noting also is that, while the Mets now technically lead the Marlins by a few decimals in the ten thousandths place, they have a lower elimination number (in both races), based on having played more games. Go Mets! And go other teams! Mets in particularly need the Cubs to slow down the Pirates. Chicago goes with Boston washout Felix Doubront. Pirates counter with Jeff Locke, who's been good when healthy, but not always healthy. He's also escaped the taint of a weird gambling scandal. 21. Miami loses! Mets in third place for the first time since July 23! Texas beating Atlanta in the eighth. Milwaukee tied with the Reds.
  22. Oh, man. What was that? Fifty straight for the Nats?
  23. Is Josh Edgy up? Because I'm not thrilled about this game coming down to Mejia vs. LaRoche.
  24. Contact would have been nice. Focus, [crossout:v50vt2ag]Hank[/crossout:v50vt2ag] Jank.
