He finished that deal with the Dodgers, when the Mets moved him for three more players, one of whom turned out to be Victor Diaz. Well, considering it's November 10th and they've already out-offseasoned about 29 other teams, I wouldn't be putting the screws to him so fast. $21 million is about as advantageous a set of terms as the Mets could hope for. It's like a modestly younger, modestly healthier version of the Moises Alou signing.

Just completely going against character for the Alderson-era Mets to sign the first big free agent of the offseason. A guy with a qualifying offer as an alternative, no less. Two years. I guess we know it's likely more than $10 million per, and likely less than $15 million.
