  1. Waitaminute! GM Dan Jennings is now getting the job and not Conine at all.
  2. i think the plan is still to develop Lagares in that direction.
  3. Meaningful progress, I think. Granderson up to 13th of 24 qualifying right fielders in OPS.
  4. Yeah, he was much more around the plate, with the exception of the unfortunate peg of Go-Go and staying consistently away from Braun after that, until Braun ended up breaking the shutout. It took some guts for Terry to stay with him after that, but Lagares ran down a deep drive for out #3.
  5. Khalil Greene fascinates me. Never knew about his 77 games with the Cards on his long, quick slide to the bottom.
  6. His feed certainly seems filtered for safe consumption.
  7. It's interesting in that, in past seasons, Gomez has had a rep as an insufferable jerk.
  8. Dear Wayne Garrett, The perm was a bad idea. Love, Edgy
  9. It's really notable that the Mets and the Cards have no players that once toiled for the other. It seemed like once upon the years past the cross-pollination between the two teams was almost uncontainable. Maybe that was due in part to sharing a division and especially sharing Spring Training digs, but while researching one of those "date this" photos, I was reminded that 100% of the starting infield for the 1981 Cardinals would eventually join the Mets, if you count Ken Oberkfell being a two-time Mets coach and longtime minor league manager.
  10. Reports are mixed: Is Conine to being appointed as manager or interim manager?
  11. Daniel Murphy joins the 200 doubles club. As you can see below, he has a chance to leapfrog some serious names. Doubles in a Metly Career 1) David Wright: 375* Daniel Murphy projected to end of season: 232.63 2) Ed Kranepool: 225 3) Jos Reyes: 222 4) Howard Johnson: 214 5) Edgardo Alfonzo: 212 6) Carlos Beltran: 208 7) Daniel Murphy: 200 8) Mike Piazza: 193 =#FF8000]Daniel Murphy at start of season: 190 9) Darryl Strawberry: 187 10) Cleon Jones: 182 *In eight games before getting hurt, David Wright hit exactly 0 doubles, which means, based on his 2015 rate, he is expected to have a doubles-free year. Not very useful certainly, but he still has a chance to become the first Met with 400 doubles before the year is out.
  12. May 22, 1981
  13. Robles is the new Black!
  14. Mike Redmond: Out of Work.
  15. Rubbles may be a high-leverage guy pretty soon.
  16. OOOHHHH, Shelby Miller!! Golfer's name or not, I feel for you.
  17. Keith's right. Gaard needed to come in eventually, and he didn't.
  18. Go-Go, man. Ouch. That was one solid plunking.
  19. No way. Set the pace. A torrid pace. Let the Nats try and keep up.
  20. I was thinking that Jerry Mumphrey, locking me into 1980, his only year on the Padres. Gene Richards, I forgot existed, if I ever knew. [fimg=250]http://www.morthas.com/cards/370_83F_Richards.jpg[/fimg]
  21. Things are going better when they're walking Murphy to get Flores. #really?

  23. Keith talking about Bill Madlock here. First we've heard from in two innings.
  24. Edgy MD wrote: Goeddel eligible for the three-inning save tonight. The dream of the 13-run save dies as Mayberry comes to the plate for Gerbil.
