  1. Cuddy: 3-3 with a walk. Yeah, there were no RBI, no runs scored, and no extra bases, but having spent these last few weeks in the Kingdom of WeGottaGetThisGuyGoin', I'll sure take it.

I think Mike Phillips and Eric Milton are also on the All-Snooty New England Prep School Team. Darren Da(u)lton, too.
  3. Your New York Mets: .667 over their last six games.
  4. Call me crazy, but I think Lucas was just trying to get a good pitch to hit, and put the barrel of the bat on it.
  5. Completely different dude.

  7. Know what I never say no to? One-hitters. Girl scout cookies and one-hitters.
  8. Call him Jan deBunt. Take note, other Met pitchers.
  9. Would like to nip any "injured pitcher makes triumphant return" story lines in the bud. IN THE BUD!!
  10. Sawing off Heyward and finishing off away may work better than the breaking stuff down and in that he's been golfing to right.
  11. Disappointed Lags wasn't looking to run there. Molina on the bench, runs coming dearly, a leadoff baserunner, you gots to force the issue.

Kevin Plawecki (R) C 9. Jacob deGrom (L) P Dear crew, Out-doing last night's pathetic 4-single "attack" would be a nice start. Hell, deGrom had three singles by himself last time out so it can't be that hard. Although considering that we're starting as a lead-off hitter a guy whose last hit I can't even remember maybe it won't be so easy after all even while facing a pitcher who hasn't pitched all year. Laggy's actually hit in five straight, just... softly. What he's barely ever doing is walking, but he just led off of with one of those rare gemstones.
  13. Let's drop a bomb on this debut.
  14. Jacob wearing the home whites with pins and whiffing three in the first. Can't ask for much more.

Yikes! Well, I meant to refute your notion of "now practically back to full strength." If the Nats being at full strength is bad news for the Mets, and the Nats not being at full strength is bad news for the Mets, I don't know what to say. Bad news for the Mets, I guess. Very obviously, Werth and Fister had not been out during the duration of that 17-4 stretch.
  16. Kolb is everywhere. That Moiss Alou who played for the Buccos was about half the weight of the one we got.
  17. Nats, for what it's worth (or werth), aren't really full strength. Fister's out 'til at least mid-June and Werth went down in the Yankee series. Rendon and McLouth haven't reappeared either. Not that my faith is in National health, but...
  18. I agree that first place isn't gone. We're in striking distance!
  19. Announcement to be held today in Columbia, SC, regarding which South Atlantic League team is going to move there. Columbia, former home of the Mets-affiliated Capitol City Bombers, is expected to be acquiring the Mets-affiliated Savannah Sand Gnats, long believed to be playing in out-of-date digs. The players will be pleased to be moving from a really hot city to a really hot city.
  20. Systems are complex things, all things influence each other, and bad play begets bad play.
  21. Oh, my God, not SOME PEOPLE. They're the worst.
  22. All badness stems from Colon not scoroning.
  23. Duda's mistake was jumping, I think.
  24. Heyward likes the ball on top of his shoes.
  25. Yeah, but he's missed out twice now on scoring the tying run..
