I like that: Conceiving of each playoff city in terms of the greatest graphic artist that city produced. Chicago gets Edward Gorey! [fimg=500:2bmk2259]http://i.huffpost.com/gen/1641833/thumbs/o-GOREY-facebook.jpg[/fimg:2bmk2259]

I'm just wondering: Would Familia's sweep have been complete had October games counted toward September?

In fairness, those koala eyes were a part of Agee's makeup. Agee would be diagnosed later with diabetes, right? In retrospect, he seems to be in reasonable shape in his action shots from his career, but his baseball card shots, often taken in the spring, seem to show him obviously carrying extra weight, with the puffy face. And looking older than his years, too.

Please remind me, do October points get folded into September? Love the varieties of Familia 2015.

I agree. It's a GREAT look.

I think "Swiss Terrorist Threat" may be the best part of that. It's like a Naked Gun joke in the middle of Back to the Future II.

I just figured that he typed really slowly.

I fear a team with a bully pitcher like Arrieta over a team with an MVP-quality player like McCutcheon. The Mets beat the Giants with Barry Bonds at the height of his powers, but couldn't beat the Dodgers riding Orel Hershiser for, like, 30 innings. Besides, I like McCutcheon. Even with that baggy-assed uniform, he seems like he's easily the most physically fit player in the league. He's a great mix of refined baseball skill and superior athleticism and instinct, like young Carlos Beltran. I get the idea he could walk into the NFL right now and be a halfway decent halfback/kick returner.

A thread proposed by cooby. You try to put your best spin on it, but the initial shock is raw. In a week or so, your new normal will have settled in, but right now, you've been sent packing, perhaps by the only organization you've ever known, and the sting is fresh. But there's a mic in your face. Try and say something civilized, you bitter ex-Met. "I love playing in XXXXXX," said XXXXXX. "I got my first hit in XXXXXX, actually my first home run. I could see the passion from the fans. It's probably one of my favorite places to play, just to see the excitement from the fans and throughout the game. It was a fun place to go and play games. I'm excited to be part of the team now." Mostly generic stuff. Name that ex-Met. And share your quotes from other recently relocated ex-Mets.

Hey, there's a game tonight! High stakes! [fimg=300:kz7rikjh]http://www.findthatlogo.com/wp-content/gallery/chicago-cubs-logos/cubbies-bear-logo.gif[/fimg:kz7rikjh] [fimg=300:kz7rikjh]http://content.sportslogos.net/logos/54/71/full/2309.gif[/fimg:kz7rikjh] Notable Cub factor: If they had called Kris Bryant up a few days earlier, this game might be at Wrigley.

Officially, never, I think. But in the spirit of the thing, I guess it closes when the Mets announce their roster.

Of course the team cares.

A ninth-inning Beltran strikeout. Hmmm...

Dallas Keuchel has beard that could make me root for the Yankees.

Adam says Gilmartin or Torres will be the 11th pitcher brought along if Matz doesn't make it. Health aside, let's make our own reality. I'm really hoping Friday to compare the team we wanted with the team we get.

Homerun for Gomez!

And three others as well. But 16 Uribe voters remain. Switch your vote! Don't be a dumbass like Harvey!

Marc Carig: People find ways to argue over the stupidest shit. There's no reason he can't be selfish and be a dumbass. In fact, he can possibly be a selfish dumbass who was out partying. Out partying and he fucked up. These things aren't mutually exclusive.

I would encourage all 20 of you Uribe voters to pick another dude.

Good. It's always at least a little disgraceful when Jesus is casting stones. You can't spell "Mandatory" without "Mandt"!

Good catch. Tough break, left-handed relievers.
