  1. Apples 1 - Travis d'Arnaud
  2. Worth a bump, considering latter-day context. Edgy MD wrote: The Daily News catches up with Rafael Santana. I assume part of this is an illusion of depth and angle, but check out how far off the bag he is, with the runner (Marty Barrett?) still coming after him. 3. Benjamin Grimm wrote: if healthy, Wright, d'Arnaud, and Conforto should be an upgrade over Campbell, Plawecki, and Cuddyer. That's some cautious-assed optimism. Me, I'm fee-URIOUS that we're letting the cart get ahead of the horse here. Murphy should not be reading stories about how the Mets are going to let him walk. He should be reading stories about how is an unrelenting demon, making a travesty of this whole playoff thing.

  5. Personally, I think folks are going to stop throwing him the curveball on the inside part of the plate starting right now. He's developed a great sense of when that baby is coming and his frequent interviews with the umps have really solidified his awareness of that part of the strike zone. But this guy deserves his own thread right now. And you deserve to post in it. Use this thread for your Daniel Murphy observations, hyperboles, anagrams, links to profiles of the dude, and pictures, descriptions and accounts of him and his playoff beard.
  6. It's good to have a day off so's'n' I can finally get some sweep. Wait. I meant sleep. What did I say?
  7. Wonder what happened to the promise to work Matz in for an inning. Not complaining, but I'm curious.

  9. I was expecting Matz this inning.
  10. Don't take Prevnar 13, don't ask your doctor or pharmacist about it, and if somebody mentions the stuff, run in the opposite direction.
  11. Kyle Schwarber = Victor Bueno. [fimg=300:1g0k93ss]http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/33712.png&w=350&h=254[/fimg:1g0k93ss] [fimg=300:1g0k93ss]http://i.ytimg.com/vi/tdT47Y5mngQ/maxresdefault.jpg[/fimg:1g0k93ss]
  12. Arby's can't pronounce "Jalapeos."

  14. Cuddyer = not sucky. Duda won't be sucky forever either. I can ride him out. He's done as much for me.
  15. Don't let 'em do that to you, Kid.
  16. Didn't this happen in the 1986 post-season? Walking Hernandez to get to Carter while Strawberry whispered "Don't let 'em do that to you, Kid" in Carter's ear?
  17. Who'd've ever thought we'd see anybody walking Murphy to get to Cespedes?
  18. It's not as easy as you think, Kyle Schwarber.
  19. Mets Guy in Michigan wrote: Just heard this on the radio (and forgive id it's been posted already): Three players have played for the Mets, Cubs, Blue Jays and Royals. Who are they? Pat Tabler!
  20. Tom Goodwin is notably exuberant.
  21. I went with "GO." The other two are a given.
  22. Curtis Granderson sucks. He sucks baseball out from behind the other side of the fence.
