  1. This is not my beautiful wife.
  2. Cowgill on for Byrdie. U-Ribbie at the plate. All so surreal.
  3. We've got more guys dying at the plate tonight than Guy Fieri. Later
  4. De Aza making a statement that he belongs tonight. I though the Indians were wearing C's on their hats tonight, but I guess that's the batting helmet.
  5. Ramon Martinez. As the Mets were tanking down the stretch, a desperate Jerry Manuel lost faith in his other second base options (Castillo and Argenis) and went with a AAAA journeyman as his starter the last week. Combined with Luis Ayala as a symbol of how truly out of gas that team was.
  6. Framey-framey, d'Arnaud. Very framey.
  7. These guys have their regular numbers on the back of their helmets. Why do they hate Jackie Robinson?
  8. No Kranes for you! Good guess!
  9. Uribe and Byrdie chunky guys who can still get around the ball. Probably what you want against Coln.
  10. Ten Kranebucks to whoever can fill in the blank.

  12. We hit the ball hard all inning and come up with a goosegg. I suppose that's only fair, considering.
  13. Boo. Anyhow, shouldn't that error be on the cutoff man?
  14. Kipnis surprised me by not challenging De Aza's arm.
  15. Reminds me of an oldie but a greatie. [youtube:2pqthce3]_-UBnjzJMQ0[/youtube:2pqthce3] Love the messy drum entry.
  16. I was thinking he gets an emergency start and gets kicked off the 40 before he's out of the shower.
  17. That lineup is uncontainable. It's also FUNcontainable! Now move yourself up, d'Arnaud.

  19. What with the quick pitching and the brush-backing, I look to be the enfant terrible of the Mets bullpen. Some would read that sentence with wariness, but I just read the part that says, "I look to be ... of the Mets bullpen. And that I do. Already I'm join gin big Jim Henderson and Antonio Bastardo and Addy Reed among the high-leverage options. Know why? Because I'm good. I'm the first of the great 2012 Brooklyn Cyclones rotation to become a rock in the Mets pitching staff. Hate me for whatever reasons you want, but you're going to be owning your love for me soon enough. I'm Hansel Robles, and I plan on getting a lot of love this season. By August, you'll scarcely remember a time when I wasn't in your bullpen. But those are my thoughts. What do you think will happen? 20. Iron Eyes Cody.

His father-in-law is Atlee Hammaker, an old Giant pitcher who had a couple of great seasons and is mainly remembered now for having a funny name. Atlee gave up the first — and, I think, only — grand slam in All Star Game history.
  22. Bold words, as L.J. remains in Bingo while T.J. is a 51.
  23. Let's face it, with Murph gone, with Tehooty gone, the infield situation is WIDE OPEN ... yeah, we got two new guys, but how long is that going to last? Short-timers! There's going to be a void soon, and who's going to fill it? You, Frayed Knot? You, Lefty Specialist? I don't think so! So why not ME?! I'm T.J. Rivera. That stands for "Thomas Javier," but it might as well stand for "Terrifying Justice" as far as my enemies are concerned. But I have no more enemies, at least not at the minor league level, for they are all vanquished. What I have are the potential enemies soon to fall at the big league level. I'm a Bronx-born (Lehman HS — GO LOBOS!), multi-position, minor league veteran juggernaut who has hit at every damn level (.318 career batting average, and a .784 OPS) despite being undrafted. Oh, and I was discovered by Mackey Sasser. Yahtzee. It's like I keep telling folks, if you overlook me, you pay. How much will I play, and how much will you pay, in 2016?
