  1. Feels like that inning was waiting for the season to start 10 days after it was supposed to, and it still not happening.
  2. Oh, we should have tagged and scored on that, Grand.
  3. Sitty three hits to 3,000 for Ichiro.
  4. Righthanded Walker batting cleanup.
  5. Would be even nicer to see Tom Koehler pounded.
  6. Not yet available, I would gather. But the news of the day is enough to make the former Ms. Stacey Harris our Metwife of the Day! [fimg=400]http://fabwags.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/11/stacey-harris-deGrom-8.jpg[/fimg] Stacey has a similar nose to her husband and shares his vulnerability to camera-flash redeye. But he knows what his lady likes too, and that's why he proposed in a sweatshirt and a golf hat. [fimg=400]https://1minutesportsblogsnyc.files.wordpress.com/2015/02/stacey-harris-degrom-2.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=400]https://heavyeditorial.files.wordpress.com/2015/04/bcmzevhiaaagumx.jpg?quality=65&strip=all&strip=all[/fimg] Even as he ate her face, she kept the bling facing the camera. That's big league presence of mind right there. Stay with the play, Stacey. [fimg=500]http://fabwags.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Jacob-DeGrom-wife-Stacey-Harris-DeGrom-engagement.jpg[/fimg] Stacey clearly likes to go white and lacey, but for events in a barn, she knows the seventies halter dress is the move to make. She may clean up nice, but she's no snobby society dame, having met Jacob at a bull-riding event. Being more white-picket-fence- than penthouse-oriented, she even incorporated the theme into their wedding. [fimg=600]https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/stacey_jacob-stacey_jacob-0043a.jpg?quality=90&strip=all[/fimg] Get a hold of yourself, Jakey! Easy on the nibbling. Never without a winning smile, she almost made the camouflage uniform look good. That's just an almost, Stacey. Not quite. But hey, that doesn't mean the Big Apple doesn't hold a special place in her heart. I mean, nothing says I New York like a visit to the world famous Battery during a snow storm while the wind is hitting you from like seven directions. [fimg=550]https://heavyeditorial.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/11050158_10152750652499077_8882657991261426327_n.jpg?quality=65&strip=all&w=720[/fimg] No glory hound she, Stacey is content with the right wing in this joyous assemblage of Metloves. That's the attitude, Stacey. Let the show come to you. And your butt is your own bidness. Good for you. [fimg=664]https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/metswag.jpg?[/fimg] Who's winning the hair event? [fimg=218]https://metsinpeace.files.wordpress.com/2016/04/stacey-hair.jpg[/fimg] [fimg=218]https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/hair_degrom_main1a.jpg?quality=90&strip=all[/fimg] I guess the smart money is on her over the long haul, but it's pretty clear he leads in the early innings. And the grace with which she handles that? Well, you can only love her more for it. Harvey may go for heroin chic Ford models, and Syndergaard prefers his women to be at least a little crazy, but for Jacob, and now for Jaxon, I think we can all agree the ship has come in. 7. It's not every team that pinch-runs for their shortstop in a game situation.
  8. Three lefties. Somebody's got to scratch their way on.
  9. If your kid can't hack the math, you should just push for the dumbing down of the math curriculum.
  10. Matthew Cerrone wrote: Congratulations to Jacob, his wife and deBaby. I'm happy for them. That said, I can't for the life of me figure out what the Mets are doing with their roster and bullpen. The bullpen is burned out, it's thrown 12 innings in two days. Verrett is starting tomomorrow, so he can't pitch in relief tonight. Meanwhile, the Mets are already short a guy with deGrom in Florida and not being put on paternity, so they can back date a DL stint. So, instead of calling up, say, Sean Gilmartin, who can be used tonight, the Mets call up Montero, but say he's unavailable. I don't get it. In other words, Noah Syndergaard, it looks like you have to throw a complete game tonight, you have no choice... I hadn't realized that paternity-listing a guy prevents a team from backdating a DL assignment. I guess it prevents a team from using the paternity list as a way of neither fishing nor cutting bait with regard to a DL move, but it's pretty hard to time a childbirth to coincide with a team's need to pull of a shifty move.
  11. The problem is that a good season for Walker is somewhere around what a bad season for Wright sits. I'm in no hurry to move on from Wright. Nor am I blaming any small market mentality for any reluctance the team might have from doing so.
  12. I was somebody's closer. And then I wasn't. And then, I was somebody else's closer. And then I wasn't. But I came to New York and did everything I could as their number-three man. And I was pretty awesome. You have to admit. Now I'm the number-two guy, and you know what? I could be number one if you'd just let me do what I do. I CAN! I've got a four-seamer which I throw, like, all the time; I've got an occasional hard slider to set that up; and I've got two last names that just lets everybody know that I mean business. "Addison Reed" is a the name of a high-end demolition contractor. "Addison Reed" is the name of lady-killing gentleman spy. "Addison Reed" is the name of a top-shelf MLB relief pitcher. So, what's my 2016 look like to you? 13. Crap night at first first for umpire Mike Everitt. Ichiro now 64 bullshit hits short of 3,000.
  14. Where are those Kansas City scouts now, huh? WHERE ARE THEY NOW?!
  15. Shoulda squeezed. Squozen. Whatever.
  16. That shift with a runner on third. The runner can get a big lead off.
  17. Walker can hit righty a little.

  19. Also, I'm not sure the "Doctor K" moniker necessarily preceded the Korner. His high school coach called him "Doc" after "Doctor J," but I think the addition of "K" came after reaching the bigs.
  20. Jaxon-with-an-X is also the name of long-time-NBA point guard Jason Williams' son: [youtube:257y7m8b]Mtgr3OJuEf8[/youtube:257y7m8b]
