SCORELESS FIRST!! #babysteps

I can't find the rant, but this one from last August more or less applies exactly to today. [youtube:4q7qda9v]494TCuQb72M[/youtube:4q7qda9v]

I want it on record, though, that I believe there is, in fact, more than one way to rock.

I think they should wear their jerseys backwards or something.

Are you short on hitters? Has your best hitter gotten hurt? Well, then you call up a pitcher! Does that leave you down to three outfielders? Don't worry! You've still got three catchers to go with your six starting pitchers! Look for the Mets to post their starting lineup late (it's already kinda late, isn't it?) while they mull over whether to move Brucie back to the outfield. Look also for one of the Mets' catchers to see some time at first this weekend. One of two 4-0 pitchers for the Fireflies. Someone adopt Jordan Humphreys NOW!!!!

So, even taking one of three will be a moral victory. Taking two would be an outrageous upset. Three would be a season-saver. Adam Wilk got raked last night, so he is unlikely for Sunday's start. Montero has had one start with Las Vegas, throwing seven innings of two-hit shutout ball, with seven K's and no walks. He's currently on track to start for them tomorrow night, so he's probably a good bet. Gilly, who hasn't performed well in AAA or the bigs this year, is scheduled for Sunday. Tyler Pill, who hasn't allowed a run yet in four starts (two for Bingo, two for Vegas) is a dark horse, as he is not currently on the roster.

Nimmo goes 0-2 with two walks in his second rehab game for St. Loo, maintaining his .500 OBP.

I hadn't heard that story about Harvey. That's bad.

I said five steps, but I love step six so I'm arbitrarily allowing it. I was going to hire Bobby to come coach third but I imagine it's hard to do that while AD-ing at a school in Connecticut.

Nimmo is probably two or three days away but I wouldn't be shocked if he was on a plane to DCA right now. Washington, sheesh.

No more than five steps per shakeup. Barwis: To be replaced by that guy who criticizes Barwis in the video. Sherlock: Relegated to the bullpen during games and replaced by Tom Goodwin at third. Wright coaches first. Long: Let go to become personal mentor to Daniel Murphy. Replaced by Jack Voigt. The hacking is disgraceful. Céspedes: Placed on the DL, and replaced by Brandon Nimmo, who spits time with Lagares in centerfield and bats leadoff. This may mean a couple of days of Taijeron or Desmond Jennings until Brandon is ready, but so be it. Granderson: To the bench when Duda gets back, Bruce Magoose returns to the outfield.

So who is your callup, dudes?

Frayed Knot wrote: Might have gotten away with one on the play at the plate, but either way it was two bad sends by Sherlock today. Even our coaches are in a slump!! Bruce didn't have to go in like a chump, though.

Walking the ballpark is an option. Sure, let's try that.

Send that shit to Sandy NOW!!!!

Barwis is as good a guess as any. I know I wasn't thinking, "Let's resign Céspedes and then lock him in a gym until he's as big as a bear!"

Not inspired.

G-Fafif wrote: Mets tying the score should seem inspiring. It's not. No, but it's perhaps the result of inspiration. I'll take a comeback when I can get it.

So, not DL-ing Céspedes is apparently ... a decision that hasn't panned out. As far as kids to bring up, you've got [list:az59ojuw][*:az59ojuw]Nimmo, who would be playing his second rehab game for St. Lucie today.[/*:m:az59ojuw] [*:az59ojuw]Taijeron, hitting .304 / .388 / .522 // .909 for Las Vegas.[/*:m:az59ojuw] [*:az59ojuw]Smith, hitting .342 / .388 // .506 // .895 for Las Vegas, who could come up and play first, and push Bruce back to the outfield.[/*:m:az59ojuw][/list:u:az59ojuw]

Well, can't say I didn't see a Céspedes leg injury coming. Mercy me.

Yeah, this broadcast needs about four cups of Keith. That play is about as tie-goes-to-the-runner-y as they come.
