So it's Steve's job!

Baseball sources.

Lo Duca was seemingly denying stories that hadn't even broken yet. The funny thing is the idea that "baseball sources" would be who you'd go to in order to get the skinny on Harvey's broken heart. If she explicitly dumped him because he's 2013's news and it's 2017 and he's pitching like a cut-rate Wily Peralta, I can see why that would burn his butt.

Anthony Rendon at the start of last Sunday's game. Anthony Rendon at the end of last Sunday's game.

51s beat the Isotopes 12-9 on the strength of a 4-5 day by Dominic Smith. They are the best among all teams that feature electrons in their logos. St. Lucie destroyed Lakeland, 9-1, as Patrick Mazeika's three hits raise his average to .379. Duda homered. The only blemish was Binghamton, who went to the eighth up 5-3, before Corey Taylor coughed up three big ones.

With his 20th career pitching-credited win, Wheeler moves into a three-way tie with Don Cardwell and Bobby Parnell for 57th place among Mets pitchers. More impressively, Terry Collins is now in sole possession of second place in the category of games managed by a Met skipper. [list:tg5dq1op]1) Davey Johnson: 1,012 2) Terry Collins: 1,004 3) Bobby Valentine: 1,003 4) Joe Torre: 709 5) Gil Hodges: 649 6) Yogi Berra: 588 7) Casey Stengel: 582 8) Willie Randolph: 555 9) Dallas Green: 512 10) Jerry Manuel: 417[/list:u:tg5dq1op] It seems like there hasn't been anybody else moving up this list in recent years, but I guess Johnson, Valentine, Torre, Randolph, and/or Manuel could still add to their totals. Dallas Green, alas, is in the clubhouse.

Sheesh. Montero is a big league pitcher and stuff. Trust him with a five-run lead.

Gearrin seems to start his motion twice and totally seems to be balking.

And ... he hits a dude and gets the hook.

Love to see Robles start a second inning. If he finishes the inning, consider me and that tactic to be engaged.

That seemed to have short, fat and hairy legs for an absolutely false (being the reason for suspension, not Harvey putting it in the locker) rumor. I think it started in the minds of a million different people at once.

Samardzjia has a heckuva sunburn.

Don't listen to him, Doo. Come back as soon as you are able. But speaking of TJ, Keith called him out for an in proper stretch, but he stepped out of the baseline and into the playing field and gave René a good target, so the throw didn't go into the runner and expose the firstbaseman to the sort of injury that knocked Duda out.

What? A guy with a .219 batting average over 127 career games is packing his own dildo? What's this world coming to? Your locker has a big black dildo in it. You'll never make it to the bigs with a big black dildo in your locker. Think classy, you'll be classy. If you hit .300 in the show, you can fill your locker with a collection of dildos of the world and the press'll think you're colorful. Until you hit .300 in the show, however, it means you are a freaky little perv.

If your name is Rafael Montero, then know that the Grim Reaper has just given you a pass. I'm guessing is that his key advantage when the decision came down is that he's the most rested of the Mets' pitchers, should another starter need a bailout. Did Wilmer Flores get traded again?

Mets posting a lineup before the opposition for once, and hey, Flores vs. a righty. Drubie remains in reserve. And by less than one dime.

There's national media covering this suggesting that Mets fans should be embarrassed. But hey, the team has won seven of 10 (even if two of the losses were awful), we get some comedy and some gossip thrown in with the drama, the organization is attempting to take the high ground, and I never liked Harvey anyhow. It was always going to be a year of transition, and with good planning and a lot of luck, the transition can take place during the season while the team fights enough to remain in contention, and by August we have a super-team—where players returning from injury, their young and handsome in-season replacements, and bitter vets that have been shuffled to the bench are all well rested and fighting for playing time. And April's sordid tales of a starting pitcher's lost weekend and a backup catcher's sexual deviancy will all be dimly remembered goofy footnotes.

Well, as Gary noted, Michael Morse just missed hitting one about 500 feet off of Familia.

Multiple reports suggest Fisty is close to signing and it ain't gonna be with the Mets.

[tweet]https://twitter.com/GeraldoRivera/status/861767668805906432[/tweet] You're all mixed up like pasta primavera Yo why'd you throw that chair at Geraldo Rivera, man? The Mets every day invoke more "What Comes Around" lyrics.
