  1. Well, I imagine if Carlos Gomez comes back, waiving Altherr is the obvious move. If they want to bring in Dilson, they can waive, I dunno, Pounders, I guess.
  2. Gomez is still a free agent. I imagine if Dilson is to come, it'll be Guillorme who goes down. Gary openly speculated last night that his late double might have saved his neck.
  3. Yeah, I think LFGM might be more "correct" — at least, I think that's what he actually said. My misteak.
  4. Is Alonso speaking for himself there, or is he shilling for a new 7Line slogan?
  5. With Atlanta winning, the Mets' likelihood for the division actually fell yesterday by more than half a percentage point. Such is the nature of the late hour. But their likelihood of a Wild Card berth improved by more than three times that, so of course it was a good day, and with two of the clubs ahead of them in the Wild Card standings also division rivals, it gives them a solid chance to control their own destinies going forward. https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2019/08/screen-shot-2019-08-07-at-10.19.14-am.png> https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2019/08/screen-shot-2019-08-07-at-10.20.03-am.png>
  6. I do. It's anti-marketing as marketing. Create a style so functionally problematic that it becomes a signature.
  7. And, Ricky Bones' hiring, too!
  8. Frayed Knot wrote: The problem with Guillorme's walk-up music is that this Luis is the furthest thing from being 'whiter than white'. Well, I wouldn't call him the furthest thing. Mike Cameron is, perhaps, the furthest thing. Luis is pretty white-guy-ish. But it is a strange and problematic as a walk-up song.
  9. Catching up with Judge's pace again as he ties Kong76. 10. OK, I'm a new-ball-for-the-second-half believer. That warning-track shot that Hechie just hit would have been five rows deep back in late June.
  11. Sorry to see Rojas hurt like that, but he should not be out. The rule stipulates that you're allowed to overrun first, and you're not vulnerable to being tagged out unless you turn toward second, even if you're in fair territory.
  12. Panik is a St. John's product. Was he, by any chance, a participant in the debut game at Citi Field?
  13. No Easy gives up one in the first as Frazier zinglez home Davis. Davis should be named "Mr. Citi Field" at this point, no?
  14. Yeah, I was just commenting on him in my Soft Cell-themed thread. He's also got some good glovin', last I checked. I don't know if that's still true. You have to be convinced that he'll give you more than Dilson Herrera, Ruben Tejada, or Danny Espinosa. I'm not sure that's true.
  15. Panik's bat has been lost for a while now, but he's still got defensive skills, no?
  16. Dudes recently hitting or clearing the waiver wire, or just being released outright: Tony Sipp (rp, L/L, Nats) Jonathan Lucroy (c, R/R, Angels) — Cubs reportedly kicking tires with Contreras hamstrung Brad Brach (rp, R/R, Cubs) — from Freehold, NJ Jung-ho Kang (3b, Pirates) — plays some shortstop too Also, wide receiver/kick returner Quadree Henderson, who might make a nice pinch-runner, was waived by the Jets. Yeah, obviously they wouldn't have been waived if they weren't having shite seasons, but all were not so bad not so long ago and might yet be again. The Phils recently signed Blake Parker after he cleared waivers and was released by the Twins. Could a similar move make sense for the Mets? Will the Cards or Brews or somebody try to sign Lucroy just to keep him away from the Cubs?
  17. Also, Conforto found his best self just as Alonso seemed to have lost his.
  18. I was on vacation when the Mets had that Mike Jacobs winning streak.
  19. I find that it's not every day that you gain a game and a half on first place. https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2019/08/screen-shot-2019-08-06-at-1.26.08-pm.png> https://metsrostercentral.files.wordpress.com/2019/08/screen-shot-2019-08-06-at-1.26.51-pm.png>
  20. What was the point of putting an end to waiver trades this year? Was it to force second- and third-tier teams to continue putting a competitive product on the field, taking away the motivation to completely divest down the stretch?
  21. =Centerfield post_id=17826 time=1565100150 user_id=65]4. Lowrie. We have literally no idea what is wrong with him. So impossible to evaluate.
  22. Give his ticket to Mayor Pete.
  23. Yeah, absolutely. But that's certainly on the radar.
  24. The offense has always been there, but executing in key situations had not been. But now, they look like a more-or-less complete lineup out there despite missing Céspedes, Nimmo, Canó, Lowrie, McNeil, and Smitty. d'Arnaud, Mesoraco, and Broxton, too, for that matter. A big below-the-radar difference has been the steady improvement of Amed Rosario.
