    I feel like Gelbs should be giving up the analysis duty today and should be working the Céspedes story. Hopefully Eamon McAnaney and Maria Marino are on the case.

    I like Peterson's slider. It's not the nastiest thing, but he finds the plate with it. It'll be interesting to see if he can get lefties to chase it. It probably isn't hard enough to look like a fastball.

    Not for nothing, but they're on the road, so it's less likely that he's pulling a Harvey (as opposed to pulling an oblique or quad) so the personnel should be in mostly regular contact with/view of each other. So I'm guessing he either forgot it was a day game and went golfing, or maybe he got himself busted. I hope it's not worse.

    Not reported to the park. The team is unable to reach him. I'm hoping that he just didn't realize there was a day game, but WtF?!

    Nine games have passed, and all we've seen from Luis Guillorme is one appearance back in game three, three innings on defense, and a lone trip to the plate. it seems Andres Gimenez' legs have trumped his hands as the Mets' tool of choice for infield defense substitution. And the Mets clearly didn't like him as a pinch-runner, because they left some sluggard baserunners in the game last week, and added Billy Hamilton this week. So he seems like a guy without a role. Of course I know that, if they move him, Robinson Canó could easily get hurt the next day. I'd like to see them find a spot to use him though. We have a Sunday DGAaNG going here, and still no Brother Louie. Juan Centeno would be in today's lineup if he was on the roster, but not Guillorme.

    Yeah, I said as much a few years back but (somebody) told me that it wasn't for me to decide that this wasn't an exciting brand of play.
