  1. A guy already rocking the look behind home plate today.
  2. Everybody scream at Met [bIGPURPLE]#1,119![/bIGPURPLE] Date: April 5, 2021 Player: Jacob Barnes Nickname: “Caveman” Opponent: Philadelphia (@ Citizen's Bank Park) Born: April 4, 1990 in St. Petersburg, FL Number: 40 Position: rp First Batter Faced: J.T. Realmuto First Batter Result: Three-run homer on first pitch — first met to pull of this dubious achievement since John Candeleria Line in First Game: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO, 1 HR [FIMG=650]https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/private/ar_16:9,g_auto,q_auto:good,w_1024,c_fill,f_jpg,dpr_3.0/mlb/wqiwgydujwhl4whywwul[/FIMG]
  3. That's the way it's done, Harper.
  4. Man, I'll never get over how much of the field teams are giving batters. McCutch could have bunted a double there.
  5. As noted above, I imagine it's just the scheduled day to get Villar into a game.
  6. He's not particularly in a funk. He's hitting the ball hard most times up, but they just aren't dropping in.
  7. All three of those guys are among the 100 or so Mets I don't have autographs from. Guess I need to make friends in Lexington. I think https://www.milb.com/lexington/team/frontoffice/Mike Allison is gonna have to be your new BFF.
  8. Davis is likely resting after yesterday's hit-by-pitch. McNeil is more interesting, but I'm going to again suggest that it was Rojas' plan all along to break the seal on Villar for this game, which was supposed to be game six, rather than game three. Also interesting is who is not sitting, with McCann getting the day-game-after-a-night-game start.
  9. Down with the churn!
  10. Earned both his major league wins by throwing a scoreless tenth at home before a walkoff homer in the bottom of the inning ended things — the first by Michael Conforto against Pittsburgh, the second by Wilmer Flores over Philadelphia.
  11. I think the SportsNet look is the closest to a winner for me. https://cdn1.thecomeback.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/94/2021/04/sportsnetbug-e1617647824236.jpg> The cropped batting circle logos is a nice compromise between respect for the classics and a bow to the digital age. These are pros here and the logos prove it. SNY fails in that regard. I also like the contrasting colors behind the two teams. There's some ascetic concerns butting up against policy issues here also, as the Blue Jays' primary color (somewhere between royal blue and navy blue) and the Yankees primary (somewhere between navy and black) clash when placed top to bottom, so they assign the little-used Yankees secondary color (battleship grey) to the Bombers' background. That's thoughtful, but shouldn't the home team get the primary color and the away team get the secondary? Their neutral background is also navy. On the downside, oso much space is lost in between the pitcher's and the batter's name and the small amount of game data on those two that they want to provide. They can probably put those both on one line at the bottom of the bug, better serve the viewer, and open up the screen. I like the big bold base graphics, though so much blank space where the navy blue background sits would also be helped by more transparency.
  12. The 2018 and 2019 Met has had checked most of his boxes in his career, playing for Kentucky in the College World Series (apparently, the baseball program, like the famed hardwood team, thrives on JuCo transefers), getting drafted by the Mets, lowering his profile considerably after a PED suspension in 2015, raising it commensurately with a terrific turn in the 2017 Arizona Fall League, spending two seasons on the AAA shuttle, before getting outrighted at the end of 2019. Tim elected free agency at the wrong time, finding no takers in 2019-2020 offseason, and left adrift as the 2020 minor league season was aborted, but he got two solid partial seasons in the Dominican Winter League in there, including the Caribbean Series, and now checks one more box, finally returning to summer ball (and effectively ending his Mets tenure) signing with the Atlantic League's Lexington Legends, who appear to like to capitalize on the modest familiarity factor of bringing in former Kentucky Wildcats. Expected to be joining Tim Pete on the Legends this summer will be fellow sex-Mets Kevin McGowan (2017) and Rob Carson (2012-2013). His exploits as a Met are for you to remember. I do know that he didn't cough up a lead in relief for Jacob deGrom in the 2021 opener. Let us remember that, if nothing else. https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/1019061268467118085/nfyP5pv-_400x400.jpg>
  13. Transactions, 4/5/2021 [td90]Direction[/td90][td90]GOING[/td90][td90]Transaction[/td90][td90]Signed Away by Lexington (Atlantic League)[/td90][th]Position Group[/th][th]=#FF4A00]Relief Pitcher[/th][td90][/td90][td90][fIMG=90]http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/images/players/head_shot/623402.jpg[/fimg][/td90][td90]Name[/td90][td90]Tim Peterson http://thecranepool.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/US-flag.png>[/td90][td90]DoB[/td90][td90]2/22/91[/td90] [td90]B/T[/td90][td90]R/R[/td90][td90]High Level[/td90][td90]=#005EFF]MLB (2020)[/td90] Peterson is definitely a player pinched out by the contraction of the minor leagues. He'll likely return to affiliated ball as attrition leads teams to cast a wider net. Several "unaffiliated" leagues are now in a partnership with MLB, providing a home for Tim Petersons of the world to stay healthy until MLB teams come calling .
  14. =kcmets post_id=59829 time=1617758042 user_id=53] Last time I was there, the park was very nice and didn't notice any major maintenance issues.
  15. The Phils' grip on first is loosening. Which is good, because I'm not sure they aren't the worst team in the division.
  16. Didi Gregorious walkup music = "Notorious" by Duran Duran
  17. Throw strikes!

  19. That's career homer #70 for Alonso. On a pace to reach 150 by year's end.
  20. Miller knows a lot of words beginning in F.
  21. Be a nice time for a mound visit here.
  22. Please welcome Met [bIGPURPLE]#1,118![/bIGPURPLE] Date: April 6, 2021 Player: Albert Almora, Jr. Nickname: “Tico” Opponent: Philadelphia (@ Citizen's Bank Park) Born: April 16, 1994 in Hialeah, FL Number: 4 Position: PH First Pitcher Faced: David Hale First Plate Appearance: GO, 5-3, stranding two Line in First Game: 0-1 [FIMG=650]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/mlxEPnaOPZI/maxresdefault.jpg[/FIMG]
  23. Man, Nimmo was excited about catching that ball. (I'm not sure why he's still in center, actually. Shouldn't he have stayed in the game after pinch-hitting, considering Pete made the last out?)
  24. Getting dicey, Castro.
