  1. Great, now you're conflating Beltran and Pujols. If you live long enough, all Cardinals become one big Cardinal. All Red Sox become one massive Sock. All Rangers merge into one collassal Power Ranger.
  2. Of course. That's why, among other things, the lowest ERAs belong to relief pitchers, pitching fewer innings. Dennis Eckersley put up a 0.61 ERA in 1990 and came in fifth in Cy Young voting. While I could quibble with that vote, I certainly don't think any voters seriouosly believed that his miniscule ERA was harder because he threw only 73 innings.
  3. And really, if the object of the game was anything besides scoring more runs than the other team, surely it should be to make Pete Rose explode, right?
  4. Yeah, that's how I measure paces, repeating the pattern from the start of the year, as unlikely as that pattern is to sustain itself.
  5. =LWFS post_id=67014 time=1622957307 user_id=84] Dammit, Dom's not in for the ninth, defensively.
  6. Suddenly on a pace to win a career-high 16 games.
  7. I also like when Mets hitters blow the save situation rather than their pitchers.

  11. Nabil Crismatt originally signed with the Mets, and played eight seasons (pieces of eight, at least) with them.

He hadn't cracked the top 10 on any prospect lists (at least as best as MRC can recall) but he had been consistently in the 11-20 range. For now.
  14. Dom is becoming the king of getting hit on the back foot by the back-foot slider.
  15. I preferred Austin Adams when he lived in the woods and went by the name "Grizzly."
  16. I've always thought of managers wanting to keep their top starters out of the All-Star Game as anti-fun alarmists. But I'm suddenly feeling really selfish about deGrom and don't want him s pitching a single inning for anyone but the Mets.

  18. Looks like the Pillar/Villar Show is back on the air.
  19. If they can't catch that popup, you should think about bunting over there.
  20. This Lindor guy may be somebody we want to sign to an extension.
  21. Man, Peraza got himself a hanging hanger that hung. You can't afford to miss that one tonight.
  22. Checked swings called for strikes is ruling the day.
