  1. Well, I'm guessing we're going to break the glass on Seth Lugo 2021 today.
  2. Omar Minaya wrote: The hardest part of being a GM for me was the fact that I loved scouting. As a GM in a big market like NY, it's tough to get out and watch some of these young guys in the minors
  3. Two easy outs lost to the shift in the exact same spot. I DEMAND they let me run this team.
  4. Franco isn't hopeless, but he's surely a project. He's better than the last time I heard him on the radio, in that he sounds like he's seen a few recent games in preparation for the gig. But beyond the Brooklyn accent, and the back-slappy tone, he speaks through his teeth like Springsteen.
  5. Peterson bidding for a trip back to AAA.
  6. Are there, what? Five guys in the booth? It's hard to tell because everybody is stepping on each other.
  7. Looked like both infielders quit on that grounder by Pillar. Arizona looking real last place.
  8. Lefty Specialist wrote: Omigod, commentary from John Franco. This should be..........not good. We're getting Omar Minaya making chat commentary, I think.
  9. Alonso is the only guy around from 2020 finale.
  10. Yup. I've already had a sitdown with Stroman in my head to tell him how every team in the league is going to try this on him now. It didn't go well. And yeah, the home plate ump had a wide-assed strike zone. I guess the game felt kind of minor league all around.
  11. Edgy MD wrote: McKinney's fumbly defense was the Diamondbacks' secret weapon tonight. Was thinking the same thing at the time... but that was Drury in for the last play. (I suppose that's why they didn't pinch-run him for Dom in left in the ninth.) How do you NOT have a camera positioned for the down-the-line shot? Yeah, a lot of problems with the home team's production made the away team's broadcast and the replay reviewers' evidence sub-standard. Gun to my head, I'd guess the game-winning hit was foul, but no way the angle that the crew had provided anything like clear and convincing evidence, and the Met crew did their best to call it, but they were clearly less than 100% sure of what was happening.
  12. J. Bruce and McK. Christensen want equal time! RADK won a Cy Young Award, for God's sake!
  13. It really was interesting to see the entire timbre of this game change with the on-field fracas. I feel like the Mets got played by the lesser team there. Nobody has shared what the substance of the conflict was, and a remote media hasn't yet gotten to the bottom of it, but Josh Rojas more or less admitted he was just trying to get an emotional edge for his team. Done and done. Stroman's outward intensity may make him a choice target for such maneuvering.
  14. And I'm totally taking Oakland to beat that spread.
  15. "I'm dumbfounded, this is a shcoker."
  16. What a great tribute to Johan's no-hitter, losing on what appears to be foul but too little evidence to overturn with.
  17. McKinney's fumbly defense was the Diamondbacks' secret weapon tonight.
  18. Be interesting to see if Alou is tempted to use Lugo here. My thinking is that he'll debut as an opener the next time Lucchesi's spot comes around.
  19. Mason was slow to get that throw in.
  20. Rojas is the PotG here: at bat, in the field, and getting under Stroman's skin.
  21. Well, I guess I'll be up a little later.
  22. One-run game in the ninth and you don't guard the line even on the pull side?
  23. I guess Smitty knee is feeling better.
  24. Pillar got burned as a pinch-hitter and isn't available as a defensive sub for Dom.
