  4. Yeah, I never work from that dread. I think if you spent some time digitally hobnobbing with fans of virtually any team, you'd find a whole lot of folks sincerely telling you how their team is particularly susceptible to unfamiliar pitchers.
  5. Willie played 126 games for the Mets in 2011, alternating with Scott Hairston between the fourth and fifth outfield slots. In retrospect, he wasn't all that bad, and even had a few big moments. I think the disappointment was largely about him not turning into a particularly impressive defensive specialist — which a team needs when they're using Lucas Duda in the outfield. He wasn't terrible, but he was sort of indifferent on defense, which kind of stung after seeing the superheroics he had previously performed against the team.
  6. Yeah, Lindor deserves some credit for his defensive captaining. He's been bringing that all season, even when he was hitting at his worst. And yeah, special thanks to Willie Harris, who also may have given the Mets more on that play than he ever gave them in a Mets uniform.
  7. Awesome! Hope he stops by.
  8. Diaz was in the dugout. He wasn't even hanging with his pennies.
  9. Hopefully, the Cheetos held up their end of the bargain and we'll get some double happs.
  10. Plus, Gselly is rested. Bonus!
  11. =Gwreck post_id=68035 time=1623810438 user_id=56] 1. Would have hit for Lugo. 2. Would have been fine going to Familia for the 9th.
  12. Says the guy without a hardcore gambling problem.
  13. One of the problems with pinch-runners is that sometimes, the guy doesn't feel like he's just supposed to get around the bases more gracefully and a few steps faster than the guy he's replacing, but actually feels like it's his job to make a play. Marizzy for PotG.
  14. Loogy down to fumes here.
  15. Marisnick did well during his brief healthy period last season, but that was his greatest Mets contribution right there.

  17. We need a plan B up in the pen.
  18. Seeing Rizzo choking up like that, I was almost rooting for him. He looked like Rusty Staub.
  19. As they say in Scotland, the shift cost oos an oot.
  20. I didn't think Rizzo did such a great job there. He let it drop but didn't keep it in front of him, and then didn't get the lead runner.
  21. If we had advanced that runner to second, Guillorme might've driven somebody in there.
  22. He's no Gselly!
  23. We want Gsellman! We want Gsellman!
  24. I was just wondering if we can reasonably expect him to maintain this level through the season.
