  1. I think of guys pulling themselves out of a game when they're pitching brilliantly, I think of J.R. Richard in his last year or two.
  2. Sean Reid-Foley's mustache says, "If you don't straighten it out, young man, it's military school for you!"
  3. Yeah, incredible to see somebody this dominant while he's hurting. Block looked demoralized at the plate.
  4. Yeah I saw Eddie Krane in the krowd. That couldn't possibly possibly have been Buddy (?!) next to him, right?
  5. The slider is looking a little slurvy tonight. I don't mean that in a bad way. There's just more vertical drop.
  6. Maybe they can get Ricky Schroeder to throw out the first pitch!

Athletic but always a little uncomfortable-looking, Lindsay had progressed in his batting eye and even showed a little power, but never got over his windmaking ways, striking out 25 times in his 59 at-bats this season, helping him to .159 batting average. Desi went with the second-round pick (53rd overall) in the 2016 draft – a particularly futile pair of days at the office for the team that so far claims Patrick Mazeika as its top product.
  8. Cubs apparently delayed in the hope that Kris Bryant could answer the bell. Joc Pederson (L) LF Anthony Rizzo (L) 1B Javier Baez ® SS Ian Happ (S) CF Patrick Wisdom ® 3B Rafael Ortega (L) RF Eric Sogard (L) 2B José Robotron (S) C Robert Stock (L) P I haven't seen Robert Stock that much since Unsolved Mysteries and i assumed he was dead at the present time.
  9. Transactions, 6/15/2021 [td90]Direction[/td90][td90]COMING[/td90][td90]Transaction[/td90][td90]Promoted in Rehab Assignment from Brooklyn to Syracuse[/td90][th]Position Group[/th][th]=#BF80FF] Infielder[/th][td90][/td90][td90]http://thecranepool.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/McNeil-Jeff-2019.jpg>[/td90][td90]Name[/td90][td90]Jeff McNeil [fimg=50]http://thecranepool.net/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/US-flag.png[/fimg][/td90][td90]DoB[/td90][td90]4/8/92[/td90][td90]B/T[/td90][td90]L/R[/td90] Soon, it's getting to be like Uncanny X-Men in the mid-seventies, when the whole team got captured, and Xavier had to recruit a new team to go bail them out, and that was all good, but on the way back from the rescue, it becomes obvious that there weren't enough seats on the jet, and there were going to be some difficult decisions ahead about who was going to get to stay on the team.
  10. Amazingly, the Mets seem to be congealing around a specific lineup of sorts. Also, Guillorme seems to have bumped back ahead of Peraza — seemingly getting all the righthanders and leaving José to the lefties. I'd still like to see him getting a stronger walkup song than "Brother Louie." It's not the worst, but it sort of has a dampening effect on my rooting energy. (This place is starting to read like a drinking forum with a baseball problem!)
  11. John Valentin, I think, may have gotten into 100 games thanks in part to his Boston buddy Mo Vaughn not always being able to answer the bell.
  12. Watson ... not even remotely close. Not a whole lot more than Glavine, even.
  13. Yeah, Jason Pridie was a star of the Wifey Watch Thread back in his day. There's a lefty pinch-hitter called up in 2003 named Matt whose last name I'm failing to grab. He sticks out because Valentine complained openly about not having a veteran pinch-hitter. It was this Matt guy or, by the end of the season, Mike Glavine. Did Matt Whoever get into 100 games?
  14. Eric Valent! Actually from 2004, so not close, and he lasted into the 2005 season before disappearing, thus disqualifying himself.
  15. I got a rule-fiver in my head. A lefthanded corner outfielder/first baseman/pinch hitter we stole (I think) from the Phillies, possibly for the 2011 season. He had a dozen homers and a strong year but disappeared. He might have played a few dozen games in a second Mets season, though. Anybody know who I'm thinking of? I think his name invoked a bird or something, like "Hawkins."
  16. Holy shit, Chris Carter! What a nondescript Met with a nondescript name, but I was trying to recall Rod Barajas' name and Chris Carter just jumped in there.
  17. The (far) lesser counterpart to Tommy Davis 1967 was Tommie Reynolds 1967.
  18. It's Spectrum, isn't it? Cholula's money must've been well spent, if you're still remembering it. I think they did better because (a) they had flames on the graphic, and ( their ads were regularly rotating behind the batter and flanking the scoreboard.
  19. Cuddyer never happened. He just didn't.
  20. I got three of the four misses. That doesn't bode well, but since I'm right about de Aza, I'm sticking with "Overexposed Reserve Outfielders," and going with Jeremy Reed for those 126 games in 2009.
  21. Alejandro De Osbourne, 2016.
  22. Richard Hidalgo, 2005.
  23. Rey Sanchez ... 2003?
  24. Brett Butler.
  25. Holla Famer Duke Snider.
