Man, Megill ain't the speediest baserunner.

Good to see Carrasco on the bench and engaged.

I'm not sure how many waiver wire claims have hurt the Mets this year, but a lot, I think. Best of luck Mr. Fargas. The lack of a better photo for Matt Dyermaker tells you how little he's played. He missed his debut last year when COVID ruined the season for minor leaguers, but managed to get into 36 games in low A this year, where he showed impressive power but a sub-.200 batting average but not that many whiffs. Hey, seven homers and six steals isn't bad for a catcher. And his 24 walks is terrific enough to make you try to look away from the batting average. Best of all though, is that he's yet to reach base in seven plate appearances since being traded. Stock going from the 10-Day to the 60-Day overnight for a "strain" says the Mets were really desperate for his roster spot.

No Drury for yury.

Oh, no, his sleepy eyes mostly disappeared before he caught fire two years ago.

=seawolf17 post_id=72751 time=1627480511 user_id=91]This is a trick to get him going, ...

I just think it's funny that he's had to be added to the roster, and somebody else removed, each time. The most recent time, he had even declared himself a free agent, before getting re-signed. What's the expression? He's killed more men than Cecil B. DeMille? It's certainly hyperbole, but you can say that he's retired more people literally this year, by getting them DFA'd, than he's retired on the pitcher's mound.

I agree with that. Conforto collecting two hits today makes it a little harder to sit him, but there's a strong argument that he's more useful to them as a threat off the bench tomorrow.

If I was a conspiracymonger, I'd say they were just doing it to keep getting a big league salary for a few weeks, rather than a few days. But I'm not that guy. Blankenhorn's attempts to displace Luis Guillorme as the Mets rep in this year's major league beard showdown have already failed, but his bat is welcome. he may be an infielder, but bat-wise, he's replacing Billy McKinney.

All the roster spot kills linked to Eickhoff need to be investigated.

Which of the lefties would you displace for him — Smith? Conoforto? McNeil? Nimmo?

Afraid that TBD's arm was going to fall off, the Mets send Tylor Megill to the mehill to face the Braves. Megill is coming off two straight outstanding starts, with the most recent leading to his first careeer win. The Braves counter with Max Fried. And that will lead to their destruction.

For what it's worth, all three outs in the ninth were made by guys swinging with no strikes on them. As unlikely as a comeback was, I can't respect a player who does that. And I can't respect a manager lets his players do that. And if I can't respect them, I won't sleep with them.

Weird. That sort of thing used to get players fined.

Edwin Diaz = "Mr. Seventh Inning."

Actually, my money is on McCann to strike the big blow against this guy.

Ok Conforto, let's Deeaz a cushion.

=bmfc1 post_id=72662 time=1627351362 user_id=73] That flip by Luis was gorgeous.

Great double-play closing the hole. Guillorme almost looked too flashy.

Lugo digging a quick ol' hole.

Cool that Guiillorme was used as a pinchie but was available at the end of the inning to stay in the game at second after they lifted Squirrelnuts.

Well, that's what a run feels like!

Should have bunted, Villar.

Two hard hits join the Bandamonium bash. I'm not specifically questioning Gary DiSarcina's hold there, but third base coaches sure seem conservative the last year or two. I don't mind it as much now that the sticky tape is banned and strikeouts are back down to a human level, but I thin third base coaches are watching their backs.
