  1. Between Acuna (34th HR, 22 y/o in December) and the Nats' Juan Soto (25th HR tonight, won't turn 21 until October) these guys are going to be driving us nuts for years to come.
  2. =Centerfield post_id=18707 time=1565746828 user_id=65] Why would guillorme not take a strike there. Fucking moron.
  3. "Ulnar nerve transposition surgery" for the Rhame man. Will miss the rest of the season [Anthony DiCom, MLB.com]
  4. Always good to go Single - Double - Single in an inning and yet somehow still fail to score. Fried retired ONE batter in that frame.

Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Well let's not talk ourselves into thinking that Wheeler isn't embarrassing himself out there You mean a dozen hits in 4-1/3 innings while putting the leadoff hitter (and often hitterS) on base in every frame isn't good? Two GiDPs and a very generous strike-three call w/bases loaded in the 1st are the only things keeping this from being a lopsided football score right now.
  6. Benjamin Grimm wrote: The winners of our shower curtain contest were Patrick and Cindy Lake of Emerson, Iowa. They don't, by chance, live on Palmer Avenue do they?
  7. The stadium organist just played the theme from 'Peter and the Wolf' in advance of Alonso's AB
  8. Y'know, you don't mind when the liners the Braves are hitting find the turf, but I think all three of those dunkers to short LF landed on the same blade of grass.
  9. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: Give me reasons to be CAHNfident Well, their pen is at least as bad as ours and their starters not nearly as good. Also Swanson is currently IL'd, as is Markakis. On the other hand Freddie might be their 3rd best hitter right now.
  10. =kcmets post_id=18622 time=1565703824 user_id=53] Game is on regionally on MLB Network so maybe they have a little control over changing start times?
  11. At least those first three are all going to be day games so that'll mitigate the weather a little bit. Of course the remaining 13 April home games will likely include at least 10 night games including the fucking Saturday so they'll deserve all the stoopidass lack of attendance those games will generate. I haven't checked out what the other teams' schedules are like, but do the Yanx get to play the Orioles 45 times again next year too?
  12. Lefty Specialist wrote: Zeroing in on that early June 4-game set in DC. Hope they're not 20 games out by then. Oh I could easily see the Nats being 25 games out by then.
  13. They'll have joy, they'll have fun, they'll have a series in the (very hot*) sun. * but probably no hotter than Miami so no big deal
  14. Yeah, but if I had offered you two of three before this series started you've have jumped all over it.
  15. A disappointing ending to the series and to the streak. Oh well.

Altherr has a shot at 'running into one'; Fammy leaves with a good feeling; Diaz hasn't worked in days and has tomorrow off We often complain when a manager saves his closer for the closing opp that never comes, so I have no problem going to Diaz now. And then there's the downside to that move.
  17. Braves hang on for the four-game split with Miami But it still wasn't easy. Game ended 5-4 Braves with Marlin runners on 1st & 3rd in bottom 9
  18. =bmfc1 post_id=18518 time=1565555335 user_id=73] The Altherr Era needs to come to an end by Tuesday.

  20. So who's going to be the hero today? =kcmets post_id=18512 time=1565554954 user_id=53] Lugo prolly a no go?
  21. LHR Matt Grace coming in the game for the Nats ... but let's just say that his nickname hasn't exactly been 'Amazing' this year [5.95 ERA; 1.44 WHIP; 11.1 H/9]
  22. As Radar O'Reilly would say: 'Ahh Brach'
  23. =smg58 post_id=18470 time=1565547927 user_id=62] Just watched the error on replay. Isn't the catcher supposed to follow up the line on a play like that?
  24. btw, Another thing not to overlook while watching the O-o-T-S is that the Braves have now lost two-of-three to the Marlins, and that even when they're winning the back end of their games are no prettier than ours were earlier in the season or that Washington's have been all year. - tonight, in a game that was 0-0 thru 7, the Braves went up 3-0 and then 6-2 before coughing up four in the bottom of the 9th then lost via a walk-off/Sac-Fly in the 10th - earlier this week in Minnesota, they gave up 2 in the 9th to lose on Monday - on Tuesday they led the Twinkies 11-0 in the 6th, then held on to win 12-7 - on Wednesday it was 7-0 Braves in the 6th, but eventually a much tighter 11-7 win And this, like the Nats, is all AFTER they fixed their pen at the deadline. Recent imports Mark Melancon, Shane Greene, and (incumbent) Sean Newcombe were tonight's goats in the Atlanta pen. So, among all the other good stuff this week, we've picked up 1.5 games on 1st place NLE just since Thursday Oh yeah, and the Astros are up 20-2 in the 8th inning at Camden Yards. Or, as Baltimore fans would call it: Saturday. And the Yanx lost today making that two of three to the Blue Jays
  25. Runnin' wild and lookin' pretty
