  1. =G-Fafif post_id=77731 time=1631659233 user_id=55] McNeil = Zobrist in my dreams
  2. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: He's a skilled fielder and good runner. They didn't get him just for a 3 month test drive. This is the conundrum with this guy. He's a skilled fielder (who has 20 errors this year and only his juggling act last night kept that from being 21 even though that bobble prevented a DP in an inning where the Cards scored several two-out runs) and a good runner (who makes a lot of stupid base running decisions and his hand jive stuff only occasionally allows him to get away with it). And then there's the .305 career OBA which peaked at .326 in his best season (2018) and is .286 since the start of 2020 so it's not improving and he turn 29 y/o in December so one wonders if he's already too old to change his spots. And it likely won't be a short commitment.
  3. So with a chance to get all three runners out, they somehow managed to get none of them. And, btw, they allowed the slowest runner in the league to take an extra base uncontested.
  4. O'Neill knows how to get hits with runners on. McNeil not so much.
  5. NYM bats, like certain on-line shopping services in the Covid era, operate in a no-contact zone.
  6. The seventh inning stretch manages to slide in underneath the three hour mark. Or, as we call it, an improvement in game speed.
  7. So if Harrison Bader were to attend an elite English prep school, would the teachers there refer to him as Master Bader?
  8. Good to see that our 'one and only one' hit per inning limit is still in effect.
  9. The Polar Bear stache didn't survive the weekend.

  11. What's Ken Tremendous's non-porn name?
  12. And now it's 5-5 With two out, one on and a full count in bottom 8, Gardner was awarded 1st on a ball that caught the corner and should have ended the inning. Next up was Judge who popped to RF ... but y'all know what that means when you're in the Bronx.
  13. =kcmets post_id=77591 time=1631560353 user_id=53] birdsonthebat is still around, I just checked.
  14. Your kid doesn't look enough like you. Ya gotta do something about that.
  15. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=77574 time=1631550710 user_id=119]... But guys whistling in code from the dugout to guys already in the box before each pitch is thrown seems different.
  16. The Yanquis, currently on the outside looking in in the AL WC race (one game behind both Boston and Toronto) thanks to losing 2 of 3 in their most recent series, are down 5-1 in the 7th inning to the last place Twinkies in a make-up game in front of a few hundred fans at YSIII That the Yanx last lost a game of import to Minnesota back around the Carter administration sometime makes this developing story even better. oe: and now it's 5-2 ... Joey Gallo
  17. btw, there was a Cardinals board i used to peek in on from time to time which was viscious, and I mean towards their own guys. There was a whole "Faction" [their name for it] within the board who despised LaRussa and blamed everything that went wrong on him, including probably the weather. I also remember Isringhausen blowing a save (something he apparently did too often for their liking) and being told to "Die on Christmas!" BFiB my ass! And if they want to cheer Pujols for a recent AB at Busch III and then cheer him again after he HRs against them during a September game where they need every win, well then that's their fucking problem.
  18. That may be the most impressive ball he's hit in his NYM career to date.
  19. Key to scoring: Get more extra base hits, hit into fewer double plays Thank you Alex Einstein
  20. That HBP of Pillar is going to be the last pitch from Clarke's-ville
  21. The dreaded runner on 3rd / < 2 out situation
  22. I'm not so sure he was out at 1st So let's have two or three challenges on this play and see if we can kick this game into a fifth hour tonight.
  23. We only do long fly balls with a runner on 3rd after two are out. It helps cut down on all that messy run-scoring stuff.

  25. But it all worked out in the end.
