You need to let this go.

Maybe we can use this delay TO GET US AN I-G-T!!!

And two pitches and in the game is over as a 23 hopper sneaks up the middle.

It was revived at the last minute for this year only (or so they claim now) ... but for health and safety reasons only. Each team scored once in the 10th thanks to the 'Manfred Man', but the Sox fail to cash in in top 11 so they're officially in trouble here. Something named Kutter Crawford is on the bump for Boston tasked with keeping this one alive.

It was delayed a week, and then three more hours, and then another hour and a half on top of that ... but in the end it was worth it.

Ohtani becomes the first player in MLB history to both throw, and see as a batter, the first pitch of his team's season.

Edwin doesn't want to make this inning even a little bit interesting, at least not if he wants some peace and quiet this year.

I'd hate to be behind 1B coach Wayne Kirby in the buffet line. There probably won't be anything left.

So there's now been 157 Mets to debut with the team since Conforto did.

Ah yes, the bases-loaded HBP ... the NYM version of a hit w/RiSP

btw, the McNeal AB is where Scioscia would have bunted almost automatically. It's why I was against his hiring when vet mgrs were being discussed over the winter.

See Rob, that's all you need to do. And you only have to do it every once in a while. No need for shift bans.

Braves down 3-1 to the Cincy Commies thru five

Right call to send Pete and he's likely safe without the stumble. Two runners erased so far, both on perfect throws.

I don't know mine enemy that well. - That would be Cesar Hernandez, long of the Philadelphias - We know who Soto is - the just-signed 62 y/o Nelson Cruz - long, tall Josh Bell. Trying to keep him out of the OF as much as possible is my guess. Not that he's a good fielder at 1B - not Chico, but Keibert Ruiz, a 23 y/o Venezuelan who was a major cog in the Scherzer/Trea Turner deal last summer - Lane Thomas (26) came over from StL last year for Jon Lester's last hurrah - more ex-Phillies, that's Makiel Franco - Alcides Escobar, ex of KC and Milwaukee. Acquired last year and is replacing Trea Turner - Victor Robles. Still can field, still can't hit - and we know Patrick Corbin So that's a start anyway.

I can't find the page on MLB.com that I cribbed some of this stuff from, but the Pirates and Rangers, I think it was, are starting something like their 8th & 11th different OD starters in as many years. Take Me Out to the Ballgame at Wrigley today was led by Fergie Jenkins, Ryne Sandberg, Hawk Dawson, and Lee Arthur Smith up in the booth. As they said in YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, 'Nice grouping'

All those who had Andrew McCutcheon of the Brewers (I didn't know McC was ON the Brewers) scoring the first run of the season, step up and collect your winnings.
