  1. Adonis Medina: Best NYM Reliever Ever. Discuss
  2. Marlins & Braves trying to bust the 4 hour mark. 9-7 Marlins starting the 9th. Each team started the game by hitting the fist pitch they saw for a HR: Jazz Chisholm, Ozzie Albies

  7. Gotta check the defensive alignment before the pitch Tomas.

  9. If only it could have been foreseen that years (decades?) of being indulged by stadium security -- and, by extension, NYY mgmt -- could lead to a sense of entitlement from the self-proclaimed 'Bleacher Creatures'.
  10. NYM pitchers really good at hitting bats tonight.
  11. Tigers beat Rockies 13-0 in their DH opener. Cubs, meanwhile, are leading the Pirates 21-0 at Wrigley as the Buccos bat in the 9th
  12. There is no rule which states a tie goes to the runner ... despite what most of us learned and used in the schoolyard. And the original call was 'Out', so what the replay has to show is that there is definitive evidence that it should have been the other way around not that you think it kinda sorta was probably the case.
  13. I was asleep by the time that happened so what I saw was via highlights and only once ... but in that viewing it didn't look like close to enough evidence to overturn. And, remember, it's supposed to be definitive evidence not the 51% standard that seems to be used far too often. My point is that I would have bitched about losing a game based on such scanty 'proof' and I suspect most of us here would have done the same had the shoe been on the other foot, especially for the second time in a week.

  15. And he gets it! 1st inning single
  16. The IW backfired, btw, as a bloop double followed Miggy's walk giving the Tiggers a 3-0 lead which was soon the final score.
  17. Yeah, and while it's WAAAAY too early to start fretting over such things, this nascent season does bear some resemblance to last when the NYM were on top as the only .500+ team but failed to ever put enough distance between themselves and the stragglers and so were ripe for being picked off and passed when the inevitable rough patches hit.
  18. A day game, a 'W', a series win, ... and sub-3:00 !!
  19. Shoulda scored more than once in that frame. Not Nido's finest hour.
  20. So after a 1-2-3 DP ... the Yanx IW him!!! (it was the right move)
  21. Miggy, on the cusp of 3K hits, is 0/3 in today's game but will get one more AB vs the Yanx in Detroit. Yanx left 'em loaded in the 8th and trail 1-0 in the 8th
  22. The bottom of the screen crawl on MLBN is packed with odds, lines, over/unders, etc. for each game. The starting pitchers are the only non-gambling info included. So the network run by the sport now looks like a gambling site which just happens to be showing baseball info at that moment. Also, as a consequence of all that, the crawl is twice as thick as normal meaning more of your screen is cluttered up with junk most of us don't want.
