  1. Two nights in a row where a non-strike three gets followed by a HR
  2. Bassitt vs Blake Snell Some guys will be batting on both teams in various orders.
  3. As bad as that play was, he could have caught it and turned it into a Triple Play and the Sox still would have lost by several touchdowns. Stroman & Wheeler hooking up at [whatever bank] Park in Philly tonight. 1- Zip Cubs thru 3
  4. Ohtani falling apart in the 7th in Atlanta. 3 runs in in what had been a scoreless game. Still no outs. oe: and now it's 6-0 with Atlanta still batting.
  5. Horrid check swing call on Blankenhorn.
  6. If Lindor were swinging a canoe paddle he'd have 3 K's tonight. He hasn't come close to anything Darvish has thrown.
  7. I'd feel more OK with this two run deficit if we were getting even a sniff off Darvish.
  8. Cubs had #1 & #2 NL ROY that year, Jerome Walton and Dwight Smith (Gregg Jefferies was 3rd). Now normally you'd think that would set a club up for a run of success, but not only did neither turn into a star, neither had a full season after that.
  9. You know that Nimmo ran a lot farther on his foul pop out than Machado did on his.
  10. So we have a LH DH named Vogelhorn ... or is it Blankenbach?
  11. That was also the go-to mantra for Art Howe following seemingly every NYM loss. Jeff Torborg's Mets scuffled; Art's battled. Currently 5- 2, top 3
  12. =kcmets post_id=100528 time=1658443587 user_id=53]They battled
  13. 'stros won in bottom 9 despite trying very very hard to lose.
  14. And, shockingly, he blew the save .. alhough the BS is partially on his SS who passed up what looked like a makeable force at 2nd and then failed to even try to knock down the subsequent RBI Single. At least make them earn it!!
  15. I think most are reskeds but a couple might have been original. Astros up 2-1 in the 9th, are coming off three off days, and are turning to ex-Philly Hector Neris to close it out?!?!
  16. Time once again for This (short) Week in Baseball One more day off for us, but MLB does tiptoe back into action with ten teams active today, highlighted by Dodgers/Giants (though at SFG -12.5 G this matchup lacks the drama of last season) and a Yanx/Astros DH in Houston. Both those teams also have monster leads in their own divisions but claims of AL supremacy and a potential October preview are on the line in these 1:10 & 6:40 games. Astros have a 3-2 edge in the season series. Marlins are the only NL East team with a game today as they've got a one-off with Texas before heading to Pittsburgh for the weekend. Braves will host LAA this weekend; Phils get a visit from the Cubs; the Nats ... ah, no one cares (they're in Arizona)
  17. =ashie62 post_id=100450 time=1658356448 user_id=90] He goes for Soda.
  18. That Alejandro Kirk guy is listed in BB-REF at 5' 8" / 245 ... Holy Shit what a load!! Don't wanna run into him at the plate.
  19. Due to an abundance of caution, Jacob deGrom will miss the remainder of the 2020's.
  20. =Marshmallowmilkshake post_id=100328 time=1658278697 user_id=119] The Mets even get hit by the pitch in the All-Star Game! Squirrel on first base.
  21. One of the first things Torre did with Zeile was to get him out from behind the plate as Torre himself had been moved. But both weren't moved until after their careers had already begun. Torre's first season of doing no catching was his .361/MVP year, and his first as StL Mgr was Zeile's first as a full time 3B
  22. Haven't seen her in a few years, but at 85 she looked about 65
  23. Bryce Harper was a C as an amateur but the Nats immediately announced they were drafting him as an OF. Of course he was virtually the definition of an outlier at that age.
  24. =ashie62 post_id=100270 time=1658254690 user_id=90] Julio Rodriguez greatly impressed me.
  25. Jett, I still can remember those scowling faces Shouting and screaming that you were too short to draft. And Jett, we put the scout who chose to sign you on a raft .. Jett
