  1. Leadoff triple for the snakes
  2. Heading towards bottom 9 with at least a two run lead. That situation hasn't always been reassuring but it sure seems like that this year. Braves, in a game which started 40 minutes after ours, are in bottom 9 protecting a three run lead. Kenney Jansen vs 9-1-2 in the DBack order.
  3. I would have PH'd JDD, but with a two run lead I'm OK sticking with Vogeltruck
  4. Hustle + Bunt + Bomb = 2 runs
  5. No way should this call be flipped.
  6. Edgy MD wrote: /*notice its Vogelbach at third "But I should probably try to get a hit." He moves pretty fast for a guy that size. That's because guys his size are usually inert.
  7. 6 hits vs Alcantara, 5 for XBs
  8. Bassitt isnt wild wild tonight, but he's both - just missing and not getting the calls - just nipping the corners ... and not getting the calls (neither is Alcantara)
  9. Edgy MD wrote: Vogelbach is this close to setting a Mets record between the shortest time from joining the team to getting his own bobblehead. His'll be a bobble-belly doll.
  10. More than four innings worth of pitches for Alcantara yet just one ... now two, outs in the 3rd
  11. Braves hosting the Snakes for the weekend. Phils continue their four-game set vs Pitt. Philly led big yesterday but barely escaped with a W after Familia got the first out in the 9th but then coughed up four runs before being bailed out by Sir Anthony Dominguez with the tying run on.
  12. And it does. Even in the NFL, where they do re-seed, division winners, even ones with losing records, remain higher seeds than WC teams with better records.
  13. Remember that it's 6:40 starts in Miami these days.
  14. The Orioles, meanwhile, are out of the AL East basement, a game over .500, and currently sit three games out of a WC slot. Yeah Mancini can be a FA at the end of the season, but would holding on to him for another two months be Baltimore's worst move?
  15. Will the Atlanta organist play the Pink Panther theme when he comes to bat?
  16. Yanx beat Royals 1-0 Judge was 0-2 with a walk and two more K's ... and then he HR'd with one out in the 9th to win it. Benintendi = 0-4 Yanx had two hits.
  17. Naquin, a former 1st round (15th overall) pick in 2012 from Texas A&M, can be a FA at the end of the year. Career stats for the lefty swinger = .269/.323/.450 // 774 (120 OPS+) for Cleveland and later Cincy So what's the deal with Diehl? 27 y/o, just 21 games/19 innings pitched in ML (5 this season) all in relief.
  18. Mets are said to be acquiring OF Tyler Naquin and LHP Phillip Diehl from the Reds in exchange for minor leaguers Jose Acura and Hector Rodriguez, both teenagers in rookie ball
  19. I didn't realize until just now that the Royals are opening a weekend series in da Bronx starting tonight. So not only did KC deal Benintendi to the Yanx, they even delivered him!
  20. That's it, I used Marte Partay first so I'm suing Newsday for stealing my idea. btw, even though he posted the same thing maybe 10 seconds after me, probably before actually seeing mine, I'm also naming Lefty Specialist in the suit.
  21. Boone's original "we've got savages " comment was about what I referenced in Wednesday's IGT, how if his hitters opted not to swing at a pitch then it was, by definition, not a strike and the HP Ump therefore wrong.
  22. Come on now and be a smarty Cast your lot with Sterling Marte
  23. Immediately after the end of the game the Yanx dealt 'a coupla prospects' to KCR for Andrew Benintendi. During the GMSIII era it would be safe to assume that the deal was made because of the results of the prior two games but it's more likely now that this was in the works for a while and has more to do with the Stanton injury (and injury history) than just a knee-jerk reaction.
