  1. 4-2 now Braves in the 9th Schwarber up w/2 outs as the tying run ... and he Ks
  2. =kcmets post_id=129309 time=1687310239 user_id=53] Time to even things up!!
  3. Keith was correct, btw, about busting up Koosman's shutout with an 8th inning solo HR in what would be Kooz's 20th win in 1976. I looked it up because ballplayers are often mistaken in recalling details from their careers, but Keef had that one down cold.
  4. =metirish post_id=129300 time=1687308764 user_id=72] With Maldonado up Gary mentioned that he has hit 100 home runs and has homered against all 30 MLB teams , only three other players have done that , Gary never got around to saying who they are , any guesses?
  5. Johnny Lunchbucket wrote: =Cowtipper post_id=129288 time=1687307431 user_id=166] Justin Verlander is going to throw a no-hitter. So will Framber, just watch
  6. Anybody see anything wrong with the Astros advertising patch that says "OXY" I asked about that last night as I am unsure of what the product even is. I guessed at oil product, laundry additive, or street narcotic.
  7. Don't look now but there appears to be a contest as to which team can under-do(?) the '62 Mets as things start to approach mid-season Oakland: 19 - 55 (.257) on pace for 41.6 wins Kansas City: 19 - 53 (.264) on pace for 42.75
  8. * the Cincinnati Reds have ridden the Elly de la Cruz effect to nine straight wins are currently a 1st-place team Not a great overall record (38-35) but good enough for a 1/2 game up on the Brewers as action starts tonight * in the ALC, the Twins hang onto 1st place though with a sub-.500 record (36-37) MLB is tempting fate that a team with a losing record would win a division and further reducing intra-division games makes that ever more likely The 'contenders' in that division consist of the Twins -1, Cleveland -5, Detroit -9, ChiSox -12 * as mentioned multiple times by Gary during last night 'cast, Miami 2B Luis Arraez is currently hitting an even .400 Not a ton of walks or power [102 hits, 84 singles -- .400/.450/.490] but impressive anyway in a league with fewer than ten .300 hitters * Braves begin a series in Philly starting in just a few minutes [TUE, WED, THU afternoon] in advance of our trip there on Friday. Spenser Strider vs Ranger Suarez. Strider suddenly sporting an ERA over 4.00 thanx to 13 RA in his last two starts/nine innings (NYM & DET)
  9. George Frazier - 68 Although he later was on a WS winner with the '87 Twins, prior to that he was the losing pitcher in three of the Yanx four losses to LAD in the '81 series. He was the first (and still the only?) hurler to get tagged with three L's in one WS since Claude 'Lefty' Williams for the 1919 ChiSox. iow, Frazier was the only Honest pitcher to lose three.
  10. I think he's a good bet to sit tonight. With a day game Wednesday he was likely to sit that one anyway so you could just reverse them to give him a day. Or, if it's a bit worse today, he maybe sits both and gets a full three day break with the Thursday off day but no IL trip.
  11. Our second Bugs Bunny bat-a-round of the game. Bunching their hits, not something they've done a lot of this year.
  12. We're gonna get ourselves some smokin' hot Grant Hartwig action.
  13. So this Astros' sponsor OXY, is that a gasoline, a laundry product, or have they taken it onto themselves to hawk addictive street drugs?
  14. Randy Johnson's FA contract with the DBacks rivals Scherzer's w/Nats for best value.
  15. Even the camera guys are in a slump. On both Lindor's HR and that FO by Tucker the camera shot is aimed at the second deck in RF
  16. It's a Bugs Bunny Bat-a-Round!!
  17. Yanx lose a Sunday DH and get swept by Sawx ... so there's that.
  18. CitiField is going to be hosting concerts on Tuesday and Wednesday which is kind of fitting in that The Dead & Company will be coming into town just as a company of the dead will be heading to Houston.
  19. They beat out the GiDP, we hit into multiple ones.
  20. Not sure that Gallegos put more than two or three pitches in the zone that whole inning.
  21. Walk to Marte sets up our next GIDP?
  22. Francisco Who? Two XBHs by his replacement.
  23. Let's leave his personal life out of this, OK?
  24. Now pitching in the 8th inning for the Yanquis Isiah Kiner-Falaffel 15-4 Sawx
  25. Like seeing Walker in for a second inning.
