  1. =kcmets post_id=153332 time=1713997490 user_id=53]Garlic fires and an Anchor Steam on tap is living large.
  2. Oh I remembered him once I heard his name. But if tasked with thinking up Brewers/Nationals, or even just a Brewer OR a National, my mind would have landed on Nyjer Morgan about six years from next Tuesday ... maybe.
  3. I was surprised to see that Nyjer Morgan was the most common answer to WAS/MIL I wouldn't have come up with that name if given six weeks of contemplation and, even if I did recall him, which teams he played with would have been pure guesswork.
  4. =Cowtipper post_id=153316 time=1713994358 user_id=166] I just don't know why they stick to it like it is the be-all, end-all. There is absolutely no flexibility. That's what gets me. If a guy is having a good game and has something left in the tank ... why not keep a good thing going?
  5. Manaea out after 101 pitches and 1/3 of an inning short of qualifying for a W Agree with the move or not, I like that Mendoza is confident enough to not let the circumstances dictate a non-move.
  6. Good news: shutout thru three Bad news: nearly five innings worth of pitches to get there
  7. I would have gotten Piscopo (actually did think about guessing him) long before I guessed Bench. Didn't see that one at all.
  8. Yeah, I'm going with former NYC Police Detective Bo Deitl between Keith and Garvey, and the Maitre'd between Kaat and Robby
  9. L to R: Keith, ?, Garvey, Kaat, ?, Brooks, Ozzie Lotsa Gold Gloves at that table.
  10. Yup. And I also doubt it's a free as they make it sound.
  11. The other come-on I've noticed from these in-game gambling ads is some version of: 'make one $5 bet and get 150 (or 200) dollars worth of 'free' bets'. I have no idea what they mean by this and, being a non-gambler, I don't really care to know. But would I REALLY get a couple hundred dollars worth of bets using the house's money just for making one tiny bet upon signing up or are there a bunch of read-the-fine-print strings attached? I'm betting on the latter.
  12. ToG = 2:10 Not that that's any consolation.
  13. The tying run is on deck until conditions change. And, if nothing else, this mini-rally has scratched the closer from tomorrow's game.
  14. Now all the team that's scored one run in the last 26 innings needs is a six run rally here in the 9th!! Just now hitting the two hour mark as the 9th inning starts.
  15. 84 pitches for Logan Webb thru 7 innings. That's a good number for 5-2/3
  16. I'm yelling "SOMEBODY COVER THE PLATE" at the TV on that foul pop-up as Narvaez, Alonso, and Severino all converged on it near the 1B dugout. Fortunately Lindor heard me. Nice run-saving snag by Wendle!!
  17. That inning plays out differently with a batter/more experienced LF - McNeil seemed to deep on Concerto's opposite field bloop so a single rather than an out - then his throw home on the ground single was too high and off-line a good throw maybe nails the runner and even a lower one that doesn't keeps the other runners on 1st & 2nd instead of 2nd & 3rd
  18. Well that fell apart quickly. Not that anyone hit anything very hard.
  19. Just now hitting the one hour mark, three batters into the bottom of the 5th.
  20. A low-pitch, quick moving game for a change. Three full innings in < 40 minutes.
  21. A four run deficit in the 9th is a tall order.
  22. And six pitches later and the threat is over.
  23. Two runs on a walk, a kick save attempt, a bloop, and an infield grounder. Conforto's parachute was the deepest fair ball of the inning.
