1. 12:20 (scheduled) start time on Thursday (as I just find out). Rain expected to stop around mid-morning but then pick up again in mid-afternoon.

3. I remember some years ago article attempting to define what made a #1 pitcher, a #2, etc. It was back in the '80s when the Mets had a top staff and the idea was see which slot each starter on a team best fit and then add those numbers up to determine whose staff was tops, lowest number wins. There's always going to be a decent amount of subjectivity to that kind of thing but it was an OK way of ranking entire staffs assuming that the initial analysis was correct enough.
4. #1 prospect Jackson Holliday gets the call to the Orioles for tonight's game.
5. Carlos Quintana vs Allan Winans First start of the season and seventh of his career for the former NYM draft pick Winans (17th round, 2018) His second and third starts of his career came vs the Mets last August. On Aug 12 he tossed 7 innings of 4-hit shutout ball at CitiField in a game where the Mets took a narrow 21-3 loss. Nine days later in Georgia he took a blue and orange beating to the tune of 7 ER, 9 hits, 4-1/3 IP in what became a 10-4 NYM win, one of the five or six games the Mets have won against the Braves during the 21st century. So now 43% of his ML starts will be against the Mets. The good news is that it's not currently raining in Atlanta. The bad is that it's expected to start right around game time and not end until sometime Thursday. In other words it's gonna be another ...

7. Oooh look! Another leadoff runner on ... another leadoff runner erased.
8. Six baserunners: one self-erased, one GiDP erased, the rest not only stranded but not a single one has advanced even a single base. Way to be clutch!
9. Good chance of rain in hot 'Lanta tonight Also a threat of high winds, hail, and maybe tornadoes.
10. Time of Game = 3:27 Not sure if that's the longest 9-inning game this season, but it probably is. There were Eight 9-inning games last season that ran north of 3:30 In 2017 there were 258 such games representing 11.5% of all games or about 1 game in 9
11. Well, nothing's supposed to come easy. Especially when facing a top team with a fill-in starter, a depleted bullpen, and falling into an early 0-4 deficit. Tonight was like Win-Win-Win territory if you ask me.
12. Atlanta announcers talking about the Braves being destined to win on Hank Aaron night reminds me a bit of Francesa declaring that there was no way the Yanx would lose to the Sawx on Mickey Mantle's birthday. That was Game 7 ALCS 2004
13. Time to make Matt Olson look like Jimmy Olson.
14. I may have to recheck the records on this, but I think that's the first time we've ever retired Austin Riley in an RBI spot.
15. Dang! Pete could have broken things wide open right there.
16. Now with the way the Braves score in late innings we only need about 7 or 8 more in order to feel somewhat comfortable.
17. First sighting of the 2023 v. of DJS
18. You knew the Braves weren't done scoring for the night. Just kind of wish the ump didn't decide to help them.
19. Charlie Morton is allowed to throw 105 pitches ... and he's 57 years old!
20. Who's turn is it to hit into a GiDP this inning? A: Not Nimmo
21. We've got our weak ground balls working tonight.
22. What gives those unis the '70s vibe is the white shoes some of the Braves are sporting. White Shoes! (workin' and practicin')
