I shouldn't objectify but is the woman in the front row behind home in Milwaukee the same one that we discussed at another time?

From The Athletic, today: [bLOCKQUOTE]MLB this season tried to incentivize teams to get vaccinated by introducing relaxed restrictions for clubs whose “Tier 1” personnel, which includes players and coaches, were at least 85 percent vaccinated. Twenty-four of 30 teams reached that mark during the season (although after June, only one new team, the Phillies, joined the ranks). The six teams that remained below the 85 percent threshold were the Cubs, Diamondbacks, Mariners, Mets, Royals and Red Sox. Overall, 87 percent of Tier 1 staff in the sport were vaccinated by season's end, per MLB's count. https://theathletic.com/2875451/2021/10/07/mlb-fined-140-players-for-mask-violations-in-2021-every-appeal-was-denied-irking-some-players/https://theathletic.com/2875451/2021/10/07/mlb-fined-140-players-for-mask-violations-in-2021-every-appeal-was-denied-irking-some-players/[/bLOCKQUOTE] Selfish assholes. Yeah, I'm talking about my team.

I agree with BG. Beane's appearance in "Once Upon A Time" felt random to me but now it seems prescient. Beane returns and the Mets become Bob Melvin and the Blue and Orange Notes (something like that). Tim Britton suggested Ron Washington (also of the Moneyball era), shown here with "Billy Beane": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyvu1nWjOlIhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyvu1nWjOlI

The last good call he made was in "The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!". Bye, Joe, you won't be missed.

Do we care? I don't know. Predict the winners for each series and the games it will take in the WS. Wild Cards: Yankees v Red Sox; Dodgers v Cardinals ALDS: Rays v WC winner; White Sox v Astros NLDS: Giants v. WC winner; Braves v Brewers ALCS: NLCS: World Series (with # of games):

I was #jk about the move but it was interesting to speculate. I hope that Bryant didn't fall in love with the Bay Area.

They can sign Freddie Freeman as a FA and move Pete to 3B.

From the title, I thought you were asking about my wife's cooking! BA DUM BUM!

No baseball tomorrow. No tie-breakers.

If BOS wins, BOS hosts NYY on Tuesday in the WC. If BOS loses, BOS hosts TOR tomorrow to determine the visiting team in the WC game. This ass-umes that SEA doesn't come back. BELIEVE!

Willets Point wrote: Ryan Zimmerman pulled out of the game in Washington to a standing O and lots of hugs. Well deserved. He helped them win the WS and was almost as good as his childhood friend David Wright.

The Mets have "clinched" the 14th spot in the MLB draft. They now have picks 11 and 14. http://www.tankathon.com/mlbhttp://www.tankathon.com/mlb -

I'm not sure why the current manager thinks that Baez needs the last two games off while the other starters continue to play. METS: 1. Brandon Nimmo (L) CF 2. Francisco Lindor (S) SS 3. I like the idea of all MLB games starting at the same time on the last day of the season. Too bad that MLB screws it up by allowing local TV to dictate the exact times. As a result, the first pitch of all of the games won't be thrown simultaneously at 3:10 PM ET, because that would be a cool optic and MLB can't have that, so the games start between 3:05 PM and 3:20 PM (the Mets game). This is a minor distinction but MLB could have done this better and, of course, did not.

NYY 91-70 BOS 91-70 TOR 90-71 SEA 89-71 Seattle plays tonight against LAA. If SEA wins you'll have 4 teams within one game (but if SEA loses they are eliminated). NYY and BOS control "their destiny" but if they are tied BOS is home for the WC game (as noted earlier in the thread). https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/10/01/mlb-wild-card-tiebreaker-scenarios/https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2021/10/01/mlb-wild-card-tiebreaker-scenarios/
