  1. OHernandez 5 Castro 2 Wright 1.5 Wagner 1 Heilman .5
  2. If PLD gets a forced day off, the Mets are going to have to make a roster move to get a backup catcher up.
  3. Geez. My kid got pissed off today in their tournament loss--he's 14--and I said that you're not helping the team by letting the umpires upset you.
  4. Maine 3.5 Ledee 2.5 LoDuca 2.5 Delgado 1 Wright .5
  5. Schoeneweis .5 Delgado .5 Beltran .5
  6. OK, that was childish. Sorry. But he's really not very good at the present time!!!
  7. Did Beltran come back too soon from the DL because HE SUCKS!
  8. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=t_ibp&did=milb&cid=588 Not much to choose from but Schmoll looks like the best fit... except he's a sidearmer and the Mets already have one in the 'pen.
  9. Can anybody explain what Mota's doing on this team? Besides letting in runs? Send him back to NOLA, let him work out whatever is wrong, and get somebody else up here! This isn't a charity!!!
  10. No mlb.tv and no EI thanks to MLB's granting FOX a blackout until 7PM--even though the FOX game doesn't start until 3:55. That means Howie and Tom on the laptop.
  11. Perez 4 Reyes 2.5 Gomez 2 Feliciano .5 Smith .5 Wagner .5
  12. http://pickmeup.mlblogs.com/pick_me_up_some_mets/2007/06/sports_illustra.html Tough break for Joe Smith!
  13. No problem! LGM!
  14. I noticed that error (we've seen too many errors of late!) and reconstructed what I wrote. I hope we can't edit the posts of others!
  15. Edgy DC wrote: "What we know" hardly puts Green in the clear. Of course we're free to draw our own conclusions, but you're stating opinion as fact. Excuse me, but I'm not. If it appears I was, I did not intend to. I am looking at "A" + "B" and forming what I, and others, feel is a reasonable conclusion. If you disagree--and require a picture of a needle sticking out of his tushy--that's fine. No worries.
  16. Given what we know now about the early part of this decade, combined with statistical data, makes it more than mere speculation for me. We're all free to draw our own conclusion.
  17. Edgy--I'm pretty sure that the Diamondbacks owner even speculated that Gonzalez took 'roids (of course, he said that as Gonzalez was leaving AZ--it didn't stop him from hiring him). "Gonzo" had one season of unprecedented numbers. In 2001, at age 33, long after a player's typical peak, he jumped from 31 HRs to 57. The next year, he was back at his norm of 28. Green had more years of sustained excellence and he was 29 or under at his prime (as is the norm). That's why, to me, you can separate the two.
  18. "Shawn Green and Luis Gonzalez are the same guy, aren't they?" One took steroids, one did not.
  19. Alas, I missed most of the game but I'm surprised that there's no hatin' for Mota.
  20. Sosa 5 Gomez 1.5 Delgado 1;5 Wright 1 Wagner 1
  21. I always think that Leyland is going to be smoking a cigarette.
  22. Maine 3 LoDuca 1 Wright 1 Delgado 1 Gomez .5
  23. Edgy--I was referring to Beltran's at bat music. I'm so pissed off now I don't even know if I'm coherent.
  24. You know who stinks lately--Beltran. Really, he looks like crap. Get you head out of your ass, Carlos. Eres hasn't been aqui lately.
  25. Last year, the bullpen was money in the bank. This year, there's Wagner, Smith and Feliciano. The rest can go away, especially Heillman.
