    An earlier post correctly stated that the 'pen could use a fresh arm. Pelfrey will not be needed until a week from Monday, if at all. If Ollie and/or Sosa returns, and Williams pitches well today, then Pelfrey won't get another turn. OM should send down Pelfrey and get another reliever for today's game.

    I'm watching on ESPN instead of EI because of the EI. Right away: the last out of last season; idiot Rick Sutcliffe brings up Molina's homer; and then, a bright light: Erin Andrews--but too much of a close up. We could only see the face. Go wide, ESPN!

    Man, that Steve Phillips is a jerk. I shut off Mike & Mike whenever he's on but I had the misfortune of just hearing him on Baseball Tonight. The lead story was the Chipper Jones-John Smoltz "bout" (as they called it). Phillips said that the sound we are hearing is from the Mets and their fans "because the Mets can't beat the Braves" so maybe the Braves can beat themselves. No, Steve; the only time the Mets can't beat the Braves is when you're the Mets GM!

    Easley has been banged up so the Mets could disable him. Don't forget the possibility of a suspension for PLD. If it's just one game, maybe the Mets could "appeal" and then withdraw the appeal before one of the two games on Friday as Paulie wouldn't play in both anyway (probably the day game as it follows a night game). DeFelice or Sandy Alomar, Jr. are hitting well for NO.
