    GMJ GONE

Unless, as suggested, somethings wrong with Barajas or Blanco, this doesn't make sense when you have a guy at AAA hitting almost .400 and another AAA guy with 15 homers.
  2. Omir is back. GMJ DFA'd. Why Omir? Since they didn't want Feliciano, then why not Hessman? Of course, GMJ is gone!
  3. In the discussion of pitcher Dylan Covey: Edgy DC wrote: A follower of the seven habits of highly successful pitchers. Look what you did there.
  4. METS: Reyes-SS Pagan-CF Bay-LF Davis-1B Wright-3B Barajas-C Francoeur-RF Tejada-2B R.A. Dickey-P Marlins: Coghlan lf Sanchez 1b Ramirez ss Cantu 3b Uggla 2b Ross rf Maybin cf Hayes c Sanchez p
  5. Castillo to the DL. Ruben Tejada up.
  6. Murphy is out 4 to 6 months: Andy Martino SurfingTheMets Daniel Murphy's MRI showed a high-grade tear of the MCL in right knee, per team spokesperson. Out 4-6 months, but won't need surgery.
  7. NY State Fact: There's New York. And there's everywhere else. That's a fact! (Written by someone currently in DC.)

  9. Just awful. Perhaps a more experienced 2B gets out of the way. And if the Nationals player was guilty of a dirty hit, I hope that the Bisons remember it this afternoon. From the [u:1v2x7t1l]Buffalo News[/u:1v2x7t1l]: Murphy was carried off the field in the seventh inning after Syracuse's Leonard Davis roll-blocked him sliding past second base on a double-play pivot. Dirty play. You wonder if it's season-ending. Especially since it's the same knee Murphy injured in spring traing. At any rate, the Mets' experiement with Murphy as a utility man is over for a while. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/insidepitch/2010/06/murphy-and-thole-out.html
  10. At least Joyce's call didn't determine the outcome of the game. This bad call from Wednesday night, by Dale Scott, did: http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=8632095&query=%26game_pk%3D264602
  11. We might have 3 new, or newish, Mets by 7:10 on Friday: Ruben Tejada or Justin Turner for Castillo (DL) Jesus Feliciano up with GMJ (hopefully) or Carter (getting stale on the bench) gone Niese (for Saturday) activated and Perez (hopefully) or Valdes gone.
  12. Good thing GMJ is in the lineup now instead of Francoeur. Geez, Jerry is an idiot.
  13. Jim Joyce would have called Eckstein safe.
  14. "Jim Joyce was distraught. "Most important call of my career and I kicked the s$&t out of it. I cost that kid a perfect game."" Peter King SI_PeterKing What a great moment in Comerica:Jim Joyce apologizes to Galarraga, Galarraga accepts, they hug. Class by Joyce, incredible class by the kid.
  15. I'm so glad that Warthan went out to talk to Rodriguez after he struck out two batters in a row.
  16. It WAS a bad call. Jim Joyce blew the call and prevented the perfect game. Unbelievable.
  17. Jesus Feliciano's agent thinks that he'll be called up this weekend. So we might have 3 moves before Friday: Niese for (hopefully) Perez Feliciano for (hopefully) GMJ or Carter (hopefully not) Tejada or Snyder for Castillo (DL). http://espn.go.com/blog/new-yorkmets/post/_/id/3868/castillo-to-dl-may-be-looming?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter
  18. METS: Reyes-SS Pagan-CF Bay-LF Davis-1B Wright-3B Francoeur-RF Cora-2B Blanco-C Santana-LHP The 2B isn't batting second? Padres: J. Hairston 6 Eckstein 4 Gonzalez 3 Headley 5 Hundley 2 S. Hairston 8 Salazar 7 Denorfia 9 Richard 1
  19. The Times says that the Mets want to resolve this by the weekend and that they're talking with Boras. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/06/02/sports/baseball/02citifield.html?ref=sports First class travel? Major league per diem? He's already making $12M per year and he'll be playing along side guys making about $3000/month. He'll be as popular with his Buffalo teammates as he is in NY. Key passages: In order to activate Niese, the Mets will have to take someone off the 25-man roster, and they desperately want that player to be Oliver Perez, one of three left-handers whacked around Monday in an 18-6 loss to the Padres. ... The Mets are working with Scott Boras, the agent for Perez, in the hopes that Perez will accept a temporary demotion by the weekend. General Manager Omar Minaya has been in contact with Boras, who is believed to be open to the idea of trying to help the Mets persuade Perez he should accept the assignment. The Mets are trying to make the move as painless as possible for Perez, offering certain perks that a minor leaguer normally would not get, including first-class travel and a major league per diem.
  20. CF gets a BOC nomination for that.
  21. One of my favorite things about the CPF is MGIM's column critiques. MGIM, you should be an ombudsman.
  22. Bob Klapisch--surprise--says that the Mets are at fault and that Boras is screwing them over as retribution for the Beltran mess from last winter: http://www.northjersey.com/sports/060210_Klapisch_Mets_too_gutless_to_stand_up_to_Ollie.html
