    I'm in San Juan--yes, I miss the Mets by a week--and I saw this warning at the bottom of a menu at a local restaurant: "To eat rare mets is detrimental to your health."

    They decided to pitch him every 5th day, not game. FOX switched their plans to cover this Saturday's game, thinking he would go every 5th game, but he's going tomorrow night (the MLB Network has it).

    The July 3 game has been moved to 4:10 as Strasburg looks like the starter. I'm going so I'm not pleased as it means a bigger crowd and a tougher game for the Mets.

    Jason Phillips is a bullpen catcher? I wonder if he couldn't get a minor league job or doesn't want one. You'd think that he could find playing time in the Independent League.

    Not quite as bad as Jeter's Ford Edge ads, but bad enough: why does the ad agency for Bigelow Tea think that Mets fans will be impressed that Joe Torre drinks their product? (Gary did a live read for Bigelow last night.) Gretzky--OK; Phil Simms--fine. Even Jose Feliciano (not one of the Mets two Feliciano's) drinks it, too. Torre's association with their product only makes me want to know what Lipton is up to.

    With the NL East playing the AL Central this year, I wondered why the Mets were playing the Orioles. Given that they swept and now the MFP play the MFY, the schedule maker may have helped the Mets. The downside is hoping that the MFY win (really that the MFP lose).
