  2. Rick Ankiel to the Nationals.
  3. "A conversation between Lee and Werth." NSFW.
  4. I've spent the last two years waiting for his arm to fall off. Maybe this April.
  5. For the Speedo declaration, Martino was the #3 "Worst Person In The World (Not Really)" on last night's "Countdown": http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036677/
  6. I don't know if there are going to be enough posts for this topic--but this picture was just posted at Amazin' Avenue and a CPF'er is on the scene: http://cl.ly/1906311a3Q1V0l2o192x Other people are there, too: http://metspolice.com/2010/12/14/photo-from-mets-holiday-party/ [edited, again: sorry Dana.]
  7. Francesa's off today.
  8. "SANTANA (DL)- PELFREY(OCD)- DICKEY (RA)-NEISE (FEH)" VS, that was well done.
  9. I thought that this was a good look at the MFPs for '11 and beyond: http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/blog_article/some-notes-on-the-mystery-team/
  10. Any joy that I have that the MFYs didn't get him is secondary to the fact that Lee's in the Mets division which means that they'll face him about six times this season. Yes, it's too much and too long but the MFPs should be a great team in '11 and '12. Sandy has a Plan, and I'm optimistic about '12 and beyond, but this season's gonna suck. Hopefully the MFPs age will catch up to them soon (Victorino is 30, Polanco 35, Utley 31, Howard 31, Ibanez 38).
  11. This is fun: NewYorkMets New York Mets Sandys got his eye on you Check this video out. http://mets.mlb-brochure.com/2011/#/login @mlb
  12. Boy did I misread the thread title. I thought that it was referring to benchers, which is a small Hebrew prayer book: http://www.anybencher.com/benchers.asp?subcat=Hebrew This is about bench players! Now I get it!
  13. Tom Boswell says the the Red Sox got the a leftover when they signed Crawford instead of Werth: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/12/10/AR2010121006172.html Frankly, it came across as if it was written by an Nationals fan. Werth isn't close to the player that Crawford is.
  14. They have to keep these guys in the majors all year or offer them back them back to their prior organization. Perhaps Emaus can stick as the back-up MI (unless Luis Hernandez or someone else stands out) and Beato can stay in the bullpen (16 saves last year for Bowie).
  15. Pedro Beato, P, 24: http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=beato-001ped Brooklyn. Great Wikipedia article: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedro_Beato
  16. Brad Emaus, 2B/3B. 25. Toronto thought enough of him to send him to the AFL in '09. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/player.cgi?id=emaus-001bra http://www.hot-prospects.net/baseball-prospects/toronto-blue-jays/brad-emaus-toronto-blue-jays-2b.html http://vimeo.com/7756258
  17. The way I remember it, O'Day was cut because Omar didn't want to put Pelfrey on the DL. As it turned out, he could have been put on the DL, only missed one start (because of the timing) and then they could have kept O'Day. Of course, it worked out for O'Day as he ended up pitching in the WS.
  18. Will the Mets draft a player and then immediately trade him (like last year)? Will the Mets draft a player and then give him away because of inept roster management (Darren O'Day)? Met property Edwin Ramirez is supposed to be the first player taken in the draft: http://www.metsblog.com/2010/12/08/rubin-on-the-rule-v-draft/ It's the Rule 5 Draft! Today at 9 AM!!!
  19. Firey competitor or potential pain in the ass? "I'm training to fight for the position," Paulino said. "No one has a regular job yet. I feel like I have a strong commitment to address the confidence and the opportunity offered to me by the Mets." http://proxy.espn.go.com/blog/new-york/mets/post/_/id/12850/paulino-not-looking-to-back-up
  20. metirish wrote: Probably not getting Lee now. Can we still say "LOL" or is it too cliche? If we cant, then... metirish, I found your remark quite humorous. Welcome, "John Paul": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boof_Bonser

  24. Welcome to the Mets, Ronnie Paulino (pending a physical): http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/p/pauliro01.shtml http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronny_Paulino http://www.amazinavenue.com/2010/12/7/1862588/who-is-ronny-paulino He still has to serve 8 games of a 50 game suspension for PEDs.
  25. Tweets tell us that Andy Van Slyke interviewed to be the Mets Hitting Coach. I hated that SOB. I know that Hitting Coach is one step up from 1B Coach in terms of relevance but it's would suck to see him in a Met uni.
