Just being associated with the Wilpons is bad financially. The good news is that the Mets have another chance to name the park, or the field, for Gary Carter: Digital Domain Park, the spring home of the New York Mets and the regular-season home of the St. Lucie Mets (High Class A; Florida State League), will have a new name after a bankruptcy filing from the naming-rights holder. Digital Domain, a special-effects firm in Port St. Lucie, is canceling its $100,000-per-year naming-rights deal for the ballpark as part of a corporate restructuring in bankruptcy court. The firm is already $50,000 behind in payments -- money that St. Lucie County will probably never see -- since buying rights to the former Tradition Field in 2010. The county hasn't received the paperwork yet, so no word on a replacement for spring training 2013. http://ballparkdigest.com/201210045665/major-league-baseball/news/digital-domain-pulls-out-of-ballpark-naming-deal
