  1. Kong76--let's just say he's waaaaaaaaaaay on the right.
  2. Doesn't this thread have the same name as the new album by Ted Nugent?
  3. "Matt Matt Matt Matt Matt!"
  4. We're #9! http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/reversestandings2014
  5. Cervelli got suspended? That deserves a fist pump!
  6. Terry's happy. Heck, he probably ratted him out.
  7. Ike had one good week in the minors and was recalled to the Mets. He's pretty much what he was before being sent down, with a few more walks. Tejada and JV are hitting in the minors but you don't see them recalled. The Mets should have left Satin in the lineup (remember how hot he was?) and told Ike that he needed to perform well for a month.

Anthony Recker: a passable catcher who doesn't play elsewhere to our knowledge How can you forget that his stellar efforts as a relief pitcher?
  9. SteveJRogers wrote: Sandy disagrees with the title to this thread. He said this today: We've taken what seemed to be a fairly barren outfield at the beginning of the season and turned it over the last month into maybe the most productive outfield in baseball. Sounds like Sandy wants to have a set on the next lineup you have a gig for! Steve, he can open for me.
  10. Sandy disagrees with the title to this thread. He said this today: We've taken what seemed to be a fairly barren outfield at the beginning of the season and turned it over the last month into maybe the most productive outfield in baseball.
  11. Status quo. I don't think that Sandy has permission to make a big deadline deal (e.g. Parnell and Murphy for top prospects) and I don't think he has the patience to make a small deal (e.g. Buck for a buck-et of balls). He might be on orders to keep what he has because there's a chance for third place! I thought that Murphy might be traded for a good prospect but Oakland and Detroit have already looked elsewhere.
  12. Excellent points above. The MFYs are being allowed to manipulate the system and the union isn't doing anything on the player's behalf. The MFYs are stalling (claiming that Rodriguez is hurt) until Selig bans him for the season. Somehow, the MFYs won't have to pay him and it will all work out just swell for them.
  13. Rodriguez is on the cover of the new SI. Crap.
  14. Jason Bay is available... the Mariners DFA'd him today.
  15. I agree with that point Vic.... having a 5th OFer doesn't mean that you can't play Lagares full-time, of course. I'd much rather see a longer bench than bullpen.
  16. Thanks for the reply. I'd rather see what Lagares can do full-time than protect him but I see your position.
  17. Edgy--not arguing, just asking... you wrote that the Mets have put Lagares "in a position to flop." Is that a bad thing? As the thread title states, the Mets need OFers so is it a bad thing to see if Lagares can fill that need? They've also put him in a position to shine--maybe he will win one of the jobs for '14.
  18. Yeah, it's not like they should make an effort for 21% of the country, including New York.
  19. It's not like FOX had a good camera angle on it so we could see what happened.
  20. According to the forum at the 506.com, it's because of the UFC. Nice of Selig to allow FOX free reign to do this which leads to all of the blackouts. One poster explained: The rule generally is that the FOX blackout window is from 3 hours before the start time until 3 hours after the the start time. That's normally from 1-7 PM ET. But, since FOX moved their games an hour ahead, the blackout window is from noon to 6 PM ET, at least for EI. That's what I would guess. And, MT games are never in the afternoon on Saturdays when FOX has games in the afternoon. Only one team is in that time zone (Rockies), and they schedule around the blackout window, usually with a start time of 8 PM ET.
  21. I don't know about handsome, but each had fabulous hair.
  22. In the first game, there were two guys with Recker jerseys and with them was a kid with a Recker tee shirt. My son and I said that they had to be relatives. When Recker doubled and scored, they were taking pictures. I had to go see them and ask... it was Anthony Recker's father, brother, aunt and cousin, there from Pennsylvania. John Recker, the Dad, walked by later and we talked for a few minutes. This was on a par with meeting Dillon Gee's wife (when Lefty Specialist was visiting). Between games we went to Starbucks and in walks Guys!
