The Mets haven't announced their Spring Training schedule but many of the Grapefruit League teams have so you can see most of the schedule here: https://www.springtrainingonline.com/features/master-schedule.htm
So the MFNs got their type of manager: someone who would take their cheap-ass $2M/year offer. That's what Dusty Baker was making and he actually had a track record. Martinez doesn't.

I'd be fine with that but not in addition.

This is a test for Manfred. Will he accept Gurriel's "apology" ("I love those people! I meant no disrespect. If Darvish was upset, I'm sorry"), suspend him for a game now to make a statement, or kick it down the road until he can meet with Gurriel in the off-season to "truly assess the situation")? http://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-dodgers-hernandez-20171027-story.html

Oh well.MLB is so damn stupid. 48% of the country lives in the eastern time zone but the culmination of the season is played after most of it/us have gone to bed. I spoke with 4 baseball loving fans on Thursday and none saw the last innings of the epic game on Wednesday night. MLB loves us in May when our team is playing damn Milwaukee but doesn't give a crap about us when the "classic" is on. We'll be back in March but how does this grow the game? Barry Svurluga, who has been critical of Washington's firing of Baker, says that they should go after Girardi. I just watched the condensed game (20 minutes)--what was Culbertson going nuts about in the 11th? His HR brought LA to within one which is great but he celebrated as if he tied or won the game.
"Dodgers add Corey Seager and Brandon McCarthy to World Series roster, drop Curtis Granderson and Kyle Farmer." There goes a reason, perhaps the only reason, to root for the Dodgers.
http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/21125854/world-series-expert-picks-dodgers-astros-win-all 22 of 35 "experts" pick the Dodgers. I'll go with HOU in 6.
"Gutless arrogance", says Bob Nightengale in USA Today A "laughingstock", says Thom Loverro in The Washington Times No, they aren't talking about the Mets, for once, they are talking about the Nationals!

I approve. He also plays 1B which might be helpful if/when David Wright returns and/or Dom Smith isn't as hoped. He's really annoying as a MFY but he'd be endearing and a leader as Met.
Manny Acta? I made fun of him when he was the WSH manager. Long has never managed before, Cora is "99.9%" likely to go to BOS (per somewhere today). I don't know anything about Callaway... so go Super Joe!
