    Zero input from SS again. The "Future Star" is worthless right now and should be in the minors. Another overhyped Mets prospect. Prove me wrong, Amed. Please. G. Torres and Acuna: stars from day one. The most Dom Smith has accomplished is losing 7 pounds and learning about punctuality.

    The Mets "future stars" come up back to back: strikeout and groundout. The Mets really know how to develop hitters! One will be back in the minors very soon and the other should be in the minors.

    Baumann is returned to AAA even though he would be more likely to be used today than Vargas. Since Vargas is being "skipped" in the rotation (skipping is fun so it's such a nice way of saying "ignored due to a failure to perform at a major league level") and there are two days off this week, can't they find some reason to put him on the 10-day DL?

    Must be nice to root for a team which sees young talent flourish when called up, which spends money wisely, which makes good trades--even if it's the MFYs. And they don't embarrass themselves by batting out of order.

    Unrelated to today's game: do the players have a choice to go back to New York so they can have two nights in their own bed (or a favored bed) rather two nights at the Hampton Inn or do they have to stay together? Also: Blevins is on baby watch so the Mets might be without their only bullpen lefthander for a few days.
