  1. It was nice of Mr. Van Peeples to show up at 10 AM. I was impressed that all of the dogs looked at the camera but of course, they aren't just dogs, they are officers.
  2. Congratulations to the Red Sox and their long-suffering fans.
  3. A deep dive into the play, saying, without certainty, that the call was right. I blame it on the guy in the Reagan/Bush hat regardless of whether the call was right or wrong. https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-fan-interference-call-was-probably-good/

We didn't get together for a game this past summer but I think we need to set up some kind of reciprocal road trips -- we've never been to an AAA game in Rochester (though I have been to the stadium, the Rochester marathon has their bib pickup & finish line there). 5. So while there is no consensus as to who the Forum definitely wants, it is definitive that no one wants a World Series rematch.
  6. Here's a weird fact about Gio Gonzalez: he only hit two batters all season and it was Jose Bautista, twice: once when Bautista was a Met and once when Bautista was a Phillie.

Are you saying that the Mets figuring out who their GM will be isn't a worthwhile effort? No, of course not. I'm saying that WSH has improved (to some degree) already for next year and the Mets will likely not start doing so until they hire someone and he/she gets acclimated.

  9. Which teams do you want to see in the World Series? "I Don't Care" is not an option. Note: this isn't your prediction, just hoping. Ex-Mets (tell me if I've missed anyone): Brewers: Curtis Granderson (at least he's on the roster--last year LAD kept him off the post-season roster). Dodgers: Justin Turner Astros: Collin McHugh Red Sox: no one
  10. John Cougar Lunchbucket wrote: That's our Gerson. Wasn't that a '70's sitcom? "That's Our Gerson!"
  11. What happened to Mystique and Aura?
  12. http://mlb.mlb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?t=g_box&gid=2018_10_09_msswin_scowin_1&sid=l119 Peter Alonso went 2 for 4, Gerson Bautista gave up the winning run.
  13. I wish that MLBN had a AFL Game of the Day but they are too busy showing those 2 dopes in the afternoon and reruns of The Sandlot.
  14. Even Nationals fanboy Tom Boswell says it's gotta be Jake: https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2018/10/08/boswell-jacob-degrom-deserves-cy-young-over-max-scherzer/?utm_term=.f42a548e7f39
  15. 1. Nationals 2. MFYs. Living in the Washington area, I see MFN gear every day and it makes me sick (I note that their hat color is similar to MAGA hats). I know many MFN fans and each one, in his fandom, is a dope (I say "his" because I have a female friend who has season tickets and she is not a dope, just misguided). They know nothing about baseball and have no passion for the game. After 2017's playoff failure, I asked one how he was doing and he simply said something about saving money on more playoff tickets and onto next year. You're supposed to suffer and if you don't suffer you are just in it for the beer. I know MFY fans who understand baseball and care about their team beyond the cliche of their greatness. This is not true for Washington fans.
  16. Yankee fan dumps beer on Oakland fan at NMFYS: [tweet:37kkxhji] [/tweet:37kkxhji] Oakland figured out who their fan was, via Twitter, and will be sending him new A's gear and inviting him to a home game. I wonder if MFY management is trying to track down the dope that dumped the beer on the guy.
  17. That would hurt. [tweet:2vqdwl7y] [/tweet:2vqdwl7y]
  18. TransMonk wrote: 78-84 Closest to the hole: Transmonk, only one game off from the 77-85 record. Second place: Lefty Specialist at 75-87.
  19. So if the new GM wants to go all-out to sign Machado, he'll approve?
  20. Noah ties for the NL lead in complete games with 2. [tweet:2ye4zypa] [/tweet:2ye4zypa]
  21. Frayed Knot wrote: Mets not only winning the game (a 1-0 thriller heading for the 7th) but, seeing as how this game is furthest along of all the simultaneously starting games, they're also 'winning' the race to finish the season first. "The Mets had the more rest than any team going into 2019 (Miami, their opponents in game 162 still had to fly home) and the Mets used that time to rejuvenate, recuperate, and reassess every facet of their franchise, all of which lead to a World Series Championship."
  22. It's a trick question because Sewald would have his head handed to him and blow the lead.
  23. This game is so long that David Wright is going to be eligible for the Hall of Fame by the time it's over.
  24. Peter O'Brien = Hanley Ramirez.
