I was sitting about 20 rows behind the dugout so I had no idea what happened until it showed up on Twitter.

Stop calling him "Master". That's childish.

Too many breaks! What is going on at TCD HQ during these breaks? Deep-cleans? Orgies?
  5. bmfc1
What shot did the photographer who is behind Alvarez get? "Force" is a TCD force.

Two good ones but the clever Newsday caption perfectly matches the picture.

It was still a game-winner against the MFYs and that's cover-winner worthy regardless of anything else.

I went to that game on May 15th. The picture summarizes it perfectly. https://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-nationals/2023/05/15/718167/final/wraphttps://www.mlb.com/gameday/mets-vs-nationals/2023/05/15/718167/final/wrap

Perez started and drove in a run in the "Mark Canha game" against the Phillies on August 21, 2022: https://www.espn.com/mlb/boxscore/_/gameId/401356031https://www.espn.com/mlb/boxscore/_/gameId/401356031

Yes, it's the same name as the drummer on the RHCPeppers. So clever.

What does your thread title mean?

https://www.mlb.com/news/spring-breakout-prospect-showcase-to-debut-in-2024?t=mlb-pipeline-coveragehttps://www.mlb.com/news/spring-breakout-prospect-showcase-to-debut-in-2024?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage This is a good idea. It's not earth-shattering and you might not even notice, but showcasing a team's best prospects regardless of level is smart. This way, we could see the players that the Mets received for David Robertson: Ronald Hernandez, a 20-year-old catcher, and Marco Vargas, an 18-year-old 2B. These players likely would stay "on the back fields" for ST but here they can play in the bigger ballpark and it won't cost the fans anything (which is shocking) because it will be part of a doubleheader with the scheduled spring game.

I voted late (which means that I might lose my Fast Pass for the Derby HQ Tour) and voted for the Newsday cover, not because it has Josh Walker but because I like simplicity in comparison to the "mess" in The Post cover which has a great picture but almost decapitated Nimmo.

Benjamin Grimm wrote: The three-way competition for the third base job is now down to two, Baty and Vientos. Or three, if you count Joey Wendle. I think the Mets may have to reevaluate their stance that the position will be filled from within. Maurico (in my mind, anyway) was the leading candidate. Unless they decide to go after Matt Chapman.

This year's likely starting 3B is gone. Stop playing baseball for other teams (the Mets consented to this and should have told him to rest).

I was hoping for Toronto or anyone else in the American League.
  19. bmfc1
Let's be happy he's in the AL and hope that he doesn't sign a new contract before FA starts again.

Slaten seemed Major League ready but they thought that about Zach Greene a year ago. I think that BG nails the rationale. Ammons was Boston's 10th round pick in the '23 draft. https://www.milb.com/player/ryan-ammons-686825https://www.milb.com/player/ryan-ammons-686825 https://clemsontigers.com/sports/baseball/roster/ryan-ammons/https://clemsontigers.com/sports/baseball/roster/ryan-ammons/

The Mets have also claimed Tyler Heineman, another backup C but he has a good defensive WAR. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/tyler-heineman/13897/stats?position=Chttps://www.fangraphs.com/players/tyler-heineman/13897/stats?position=C Instagram WWW.INSTAGRAM.COM
