  1. I feel empty, I will put my faith in Pedro though.
  2. Is El Duque Hern?, hoping to see Night Crawler later What happened to my Pete Flynn?
  3. El Duque looks like he's coming in next inning.
  4. When I hear Gary say that the pen needs to get 15 outs tonight I think we are screwed.......can't hold anyone right now.
  5. I don't even know what to say at this point,I'm sad.

    Okay

He might be able to show you things that could inspire you, but he can't do it himself. He doesn't have that kind of personality. He's more a stubborn, absent-minded professor who is quick to judge. Val please, all that you got in 10 minutes?, and you don't have to be able to do it yourself to be a good coach, and that has nothing to do with his personality but his lack of stuff.
  7. Can pitchers really make adjustments during a game, I hear a lot about it but am wondering if Glavine does.Right now I would trust Perez in a must win.
  8. Just announced that TBS's # 1 announcing team of Chip Caray and Tony Gwynn will do all Yankee games in the Divisional Series, no word on who will do the Mets games.

    Okay

Only a no hitter by Humber can bring the love back I think.
  11. It sure might have been beneficial for all concerned if Humber had pitched that Lawrence game in D.C., I know that's hindsight by me but Minaya surely could have seen this coming, I believe some here brought it up at the time.
  12. I can't really say I was surprised by his outing,to me he looks the same throwing a one hitter as he does on nights he stinks the joint, does that make sense?
  13. This would be hilarious if we had clinched,Ron Darling has said several times that having pitched in the college WS will stand Humber in good stead ,but can it be anything like it might be for him tonight,is too much been made of this.I like it and would much rather see Humber than Williams or Lawrence,I enjoyed watching Muniz last night even though Gary was having a hernia when he saw him warming up.

Really I have to disagree with that, couldn't be more wrong to me,I see frustration and a good deal of what JD posts is exactly how I feel......
  15. Yeah the Hank Aaron award doesn't rate at all, when the booth was talking about this the other night it didn't even rate a mention.Keith said winning the PoTY that time (79) was a "huge honor and surprise",PoTH they felt could be the best all round player in the league separate from MVP....last night Gary asked if the fans should vote for the MVP and Keith shouted "hell no they make a mess of the All-Star team..............."
  16. ] I say the hitting barrage in the 9th gives us the momentum we need to close this thing out. If the Mets can start really whipping their hittin sticks, this could also bolster the pitching confidence in the sense that they should be able to losen up a little, and not feel like the season is hanging on every pitch,.....which,...it kinda is. I think the near comeback in the ninth means nothing going forward, scoring runs has not been a problem, our pitching is piss poor and we have a rookie going out there tonight, the Braves have Hudson going tonight so maybe that will be a help.
  17. And Kevin Burkhart tells us tonight that Fred came down to have a chat with Willie and Omar over reports that they are on the outs,Omar then give Willie a vote of confidence.......
  18. I'm shattered after that....really WTF was Chavez at,I can't remember a Mets team so terrible and dumb on the bases, and it sseems to have gotten worse in the second half....
  19. Zihuatanejo.....................
  20. Gary is exasperated and Keith incredulous watching this game, this is unreal...
  21. Damn,I take a shower and come back it's 4 zip.......Philly are down 3 to 1...looks like a slugfest there.
  22. Johnny Dickshot wrote: OK, I'm saying if we have to win tomorrow, our best chance is to play LoDuca (or maybe even Castro). If all we want is to massage the best possible outing out of Humber, with less regard to winning or losing, then by all means play DiFelice. Is someone saying different? Nope that's what i got from this thread,I think you can start Mike D if the Mets had clinched.
  23. Is's that one reason why DiFelice is in the Mets org,to help Pelfrey and those kids,IIRC Minaya sent him back to the minors one time because Pelfrey was sent down,or maybe he was called up to catch Pelfrey for one start.....
  24. Al Leiter is years a head of Verducci,if I remember correctly Al was pushing a second Wild Card years ago,not quite that format that Verducci's proposes though.
