Only thing missing there is Benny Hill with the grounds crew

Sorry Hojo but I ain't buying that

Ron said some of the funniest shit I have heard in a while form a color guy, he had the audacity(of no hope?) to remark on the play that the umps called the infield fly rule on that if Castillo was smart he could have dropped the ball and turned two....in that inning with that player against that team.....I laughed out loud...
-
This is a fucking train wreck...three errors in the inning , one purely comical from Evans

All except "Meets the Mets" are terrible....I've no idea what "Mama Said Knock You Out " is.

="Benjamin Grimm":u1hfk7vo]Meet the Mets.[/quote:u1hfk7vo] I went to the page and voted for that..... Gwreck Jun 26 2009 02:29 PM I don't think people can actually sing the Curley Shuffle, they just liked the idea of it being played. Most of the choices on that list are absolutely terrible. metirish Jun 26 2009 02:31 PM All except "Meets the Mets" are terrible....I've no idea what "Mama Said Knock You Out " is. Gwreck Jun 26 2009 02:32 PM There's nothing wrong with "Twist and Shout." Mama Said Knock You Out is the best-known song by LL Cool J. Frayed Knot Jun 26 2009 02:39 PM How about sounds of silence? And, no, I'm not talking about the Simon and Garfunkel song. Benjamin Grimm Jun 26 2009 02:41 PM I like Twist and Shout. And I Like It Like That is also fun. But none of them are Meet the Mets. Any team can play those other songs, but only man can build a fortieth floor! I mean, only the Mets can play Meet the Mets! Mendoza Line Jun 26 2009 03:05 PM What are they doing with the now outdated (and always lame) "hot dogs, green grass, all at Shea" line now that Shea is a parking lot? Are they going to be politically incorrect and bring back "bring the kiddies, bring the wife," (please, please) or is there some new set of lyrics? I Googled "meet the mets" and checked mets.com and didn't find anything. metsmarathon Jun 26 2009 03:05 PM is there a write-in option? Gwreck Jun 26 2009 03:12 PM ="Mendoza Line"]What are they doing with the now outdated (and always lame) "hot dogs, green grass, all at Shea" line now that Shea is a parking lot? Are they going to be politically incorrect and bring back "bring the kiddies, bring the wife," (please, please) or is there some new set of lyrics? I Googled "meet the mets" and checked mets.com and didn't find anything. The "Hot dogs, green grass, all at Shea" line is from the 1984 re-write of the song that is most commonly used on WFAN for the Mets Extra intro and outro. Interestingly, WFAN has edited the portion of the song they use to no longer contain the Shea reference. Anyway, the lyrics of the original 1962 version are still used at Shea Citi Field: Meet the Mets, Meet the Mets Step right up and greet the Mets Bring your kiddies, bring your wife Guaranteed to have the time of your life Because the Mets are really sockin' the ball Knockin' those home runs over the wall East side, west side, ev'rybody's comin' down To meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town. Oh, the butcher and the baker and the people in the streets Where do they go? To meet the Mets! Oh, they're hollerin' and they're cheerin' and they're jumpin' in their seats Where did they go? To meet the Mets! All the fans are true to the orange and blue So hurry up and come on down 'Cause we've got ourselves a ball club, the Mets of New York town. Give 'em a yell! Give 'em a hand! And let 'em know you're rootin' in the stands! Come on and meet the Mets, Meet the Mets, Step right up and greet the Mets Bring your kiddies, bring your wife Guaranteed to have the time of your life Because the Mets are really sockin' the ball Knockin' those home runs over the wall East side, west side, ev'rybody's comin' down To meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town, of New York town! Benjamin Grimm Jun 26 2009 03:18 PM When I was there last month, they didn't do the full lyrics of the song, just the more commonly known ones. They skipped everything from "Oh, the butcher and the baker..." to "... the Mets of New York town." They did include the two lines starting with "Give 'em a yell!" which are also, I think, less well known. The Mets broadcasts on Channel 9 used to have Meet the Mets as the opening theme song. They only played this part: ]Meet the Mets, Meet the Mets Step right up and greet the Mets Bring your kiddies, bring your wife Guaranteed to have the time of your life Because the Mets are really sockin' the ball Knockin' those home runs over the wall East side, west side, ev'rybody's comin' down To meet the M-E-T-S Mets of New York town. For many many years, I thought those lyrics were the entire song. (I still remember that opening montage ended with a closeup of Cleon Jones sliding into home plate. I bet it's on YouTube somewhere...) themetfairy Jun 26 2009 03:25 PM ="Benjamin Grimm"]When I was there last month, they didn't do the full lyrics of the song, just the more commonly known ones. They should show the results like they do with other polls Benjamin Grimm Jun 26 2009 03:48 PM I suspect they don't want to be publicly bound to the popular choice. bmfc1 Jun 26 2009 04:33 PM I think that Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis would work. Every Mets fan knows it--it's the song in the Amstel Light commercial. Edgy DC Jun 26 2009 05:14 PM Edited 1 time(s), most recently on Jun 27 2009 07:11 AM I'll be honest. "Meet the Mets," while one of the best songs ever, isn't so perfect that it deserves permanent seventh- or eighth-inning enshrinement. It's a promotional song, and thus is aimed at people not at the ballpark to come on out and meet the Mets. If it's to be played at the park, I think it should be played during the pre-game period to geet the people as they find their seats. While they've already "come down" and paid admission, they haven't yet stepped right up to greet the Mets, so it's still appropriate. If you haven't stepped up to greet them after seven or eight innings in their ballpark, yo're never going to. Fman99 Jun 26 2009 08:09 PM Yesterday it was "Meet the Mets" and I could not have been happier. Silence also would've worked, sure, but that was in short supply in between innings at Citi Field. Nymr83 Jun 26 2009 08:15 PM they all suck. Number 6 Jun 26 2009 11:51 PM ="bmfc1":2adl4f99]I think that Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis would work. But now I see that the Rays are currently using it so forget it... it's not like the Mets to do something unoriginal. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr Jun 27 2009 07:54 AM I actually wouldn't mind "Mama Said Knock You Out." There's an appropriate local tie (LL Cool J's born/raised in Jamaica). And it's fun, bragging, pump-you-up stuff, workable for both leading and comeback situations. But, hey, we did Brand Nubian and Whodini at karaoke the other night, so early-90s LL Cool J is kind of in my taste wheelhouse. Edgy DC Jun 27 2009 08:24 AM The heady days when rappers were threatening to take you out with their awesome dope rhymes and not with a glock. Of course, he pulls out his jammy in verse two. At least he made it to verse two! Then he finishes that verse by knocknig back a 40. And goes on to empty a shotgun on a killing spree. Metahorically. The song has no chance. Don't call it a comeback! I been here for years Rockin' my peers Puttin' suckers in fear Makin' the tears rain down like a monsoon Listen to the bass go boom Explosion, overpowerin' Over the competition, I'm towerin' Records shock When I drop these lyrics That'll make you call the cops Don't you dare stare You betta move Don't ever compare me to the rest They'll all get sliced and diced Competition's payin' the price I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! Shadow boxin' when I heard you on the radio I just don't know What made them forget that I was raw But now I gotta new toy I'm going insane Frontin' the hurricane Releasin' pain Lettin' you know You can't gain or maintain Unless you say my name Rippin' Killin' Diggin' and drillin' a hole Well I'll pass your goal I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! I'm gonna knock you out! Mama said knock you out! Shotgun blasts are heard When I rip and kill at will The man of the hour, tower of power I will devour I'm gonna tie you up and let you understand That I'm not your average man When I gotta jammy in my hand Damn! Ooh! Listen to the way I slay your crew Damage! Damage! Damage!! Damage!! Destruction, terror and mayhem Pass me a .... I'll slay him Farmers? (WHAT?!) Farmers? (WHAT?!) Ready? (READY) I think I'm gonna bomb a town Don't you never, ever Pull my lever 'Cause I explode And my nine is easy to load I gotta thank God 'Cause he gave me this chance to rock Hard... knock you out I'm gonna knock you out! ="Nymr83"]the kosher-stand knishes are AMAZING, they are like giant garlic knots filled with potato. ]1. The parking situation is abhorrent. I envy those of you who are in easy reach of mass transit options to the park. We had to park across the street from the Citi Field parking lot, even though THOSE lots were not filled out, in a very disorganized lot by the train platform. Took 25 minutes to exit said lot and 15 minutes to find a spot to park in the first place, with virtually no employee guidance on where to go. Also a pointless wait for my change despite paying cash. Whiff i've been in that lot and once took nearly an hour to get out of there. of course i was with a girl and made good use of the time. You lectured her on the constitution and the need to " fight them over there so we don't have to fight them here"

I am in stitches over here from the laughing.....that was hilarious....every word of it ..... ] Shortsop: You know him, he's the mah-tha-fah-gin Captain! Or the Craptain. Touted by broadcasters and print journalists as the greatest thing to hit baseball since, I don't know, the liveball era? Since Mickey Mantle's liver was life-sized? Since Dimaggio doinked Marilyn? Since Lou Gehrig was crapping his uniform pants? I can't decide. His power numbers are up from last year, big shocker there, but his range in the field is poor and he's hit into 53 double plays since the start of 2007. Which leads MLB. .308/9/30/.451/.828. You know he will dedicate this weekend to Jacko his fellow " black man who looks white but is actually black " like me.

I have a vague memory of his music used for the stroll up to the hitters box......I think by a most unexpected player too.

You can tune in here from work, it's a bit behind but not much. I tested this the last day game and I estimated the feed was about 15 - 20 seconds behind , or about the time it takes Wayne Hagin to catch up with events as they happen.
