  1. @SI_JonHeyman: RT @Tom_Gage Damon: "I have to think long and hard ... I hadn't even thought about playing for that team again. Never crossed my mind."
  2. Not good Nearly all the Korners are gone, tossed out or taped over at a time when few local stations, networks or teams understood the value of a video archive of their history and broadcasts.
  3. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Holy shit-- Cyborg Kiner's Korner! YAY! it will be must see online viewing...that's a mouth full The guests on the SNY webisodes are Pete Rose, Bobby Valentine, Johnny Bench, Richie Ashburn, Ed Kranepool (a two-parter), Eric Davis, and Johnson and Tommy Lasorda (also in two parts). In a clip from the 1980s, Rose and Kiner discuss why Roses continuing to play would delay induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

  5. Johnny Damon....by the red Sox.....says Heyman a no trade clause to Boston might complicate things....
  6. Tuesday: Can this team be fixed for 2011? I'm going out on a limb here and I will guess that Rubin will say yes they can be fixed, be no need for the third part otherwise right? He talks about the bullpen and mentions only Kelvim Escobar and Ryota Igarashi, the Escobar deal was stupid but I have faith in Igarshi to come good, plus there have been positives from the pen this season.
  7. lenno212 Santana became first #Mets pitcher to pitch three straight CGs since Davdi Cone in 1990. First to lose back-to-back CGs since Koosman in '77
  8. The poor woman didn't even see the Cubs win their last one, old but not that old.
  9. Was this Vin Scully's big announcment today? Rod gave us some early season highlights and looked like a genius move for a month there.
  10. In a hitters only meeting Friday Hojo called them out for the lack of offence. Wright today when asked what effect that meeting had on the O last night said, As much as l love HoJo, I dont think we were going out there to win one for the Gipper." Kind of a dumb question anyway.
  11. Sherman wrote I suspect many great players think types such as Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds could not tolerate having players they considered clearly inferior beginning to outdo them due to illegal means. So they decided to restore the natural order by doing unnatural things. I think these guys would have taken the junk regardless , they probably thought they were untouchable. The Snooze yesterday had some quotes from Marion Jones, she happened to be in town with her WNBA team, it's her road to redemption, , maybe we will see The big bollox Clemens in the WNBA soon.
  12. Hey Lennon, when you are twenty games over .500 and cruising to anther NL East title and the post-season baby you can do this, it's called having fun and chilling @lenno212: I'm really tempted to write something mean and funny about #Mets playing frisbee right now in outfield, but I'm not going to.

  14. Is calling Carter The Animal now seen as cruel and sarcastic?, the joke being on us of course.
  15. I dated another teacher back during my days of slavery in the public school system. She was a brickhouse, but didn't take breakups well. She stalked me around Watertown for a couple of months afterwards, tried to throw a pregnancy scare into me (falsely), and generally was a pain in the ass. Fuck you, to the temptation of shapely women, alcohol and proximity. And fuck you, Candy, and your porn star name and your love of Beanie Babies and hanging out in parking lots waiting for me to come home, you nutty nut you. LOL....dying over here too.
  16. I thought Hojo was a bit pathetic in his comments , sounded like Fran Healy. "The big thing is trying to get him to get a feel for when the pitchers change looks on him. Being able to make the adjustment to when they take speed off pitches in the strike zone," Johnson said. "That takes time." The biggest thing he has going for him is a really quick bat," he said. "He's got quick hands, and it's one of those things where he's just got to learn major league pitching. They're kind of playing around on him. He's just got to get the feel of guys changing speeds in the strike zone. I see him as a guy who is going to hit 15 home runs." F-Mart needs to learn major league pitching in AAA...it's all about chanfidence
  17. Here's what an indictment looks like http://www.scribd.com/doc/36134312/Read-full-Clemens-indictment This is the Clememns indictment , and yes it is impresive work....
  18. John Harper is furiously trying to work this in to an article on how incompetent the Wilpon's are, this will be seen as proof of something bad with the Mets....
  19. Text By MICHAEL S. SCHMIDT Published: August 19, 2010 Federal authorities have decided to indict Roger Clemens on charges of making false statements to Congress about his use of performance-enhancing drugs, according to two people briefed on the matter. An announcement is expected later today. The indictment comes nearly two and half years after Clemens and his former trainer Brian McNamee testified under oath at a hearing before the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, directly contradicting each other about whether Clemens had used the banned substances. The committee held the hearing in February 2008, just two months after McNamee first tied Clemens to the use of the substances in George J. Mitchells report on the use of performance-enhancing drugs in baseball. After Mitchell released the report, Clemens launched an attack on McNamee, saying he made up the allegations. Federal authorities had McNamee cooperate with federal authorities in 2008 to avoid charging him with steroid distribution.

  22. Some good stuff in there ..... what about this? The Mets, bereft of roster depth, sold their rule 5 pick, Carlos Monasterios, to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
  23. This is just dumb shit The Mets promoted Jenrry Mejia, stunting his growth, because they worship at the altar of the 8th inning man. But apparently not enough to hold on to ODay, Lindstrom, or Bell. Some of these guys have been gone years
  24. Tatis as I recall hasn't been much good for a long while, I think he's being harsh on Nieve, Manuel had him burned out by the time he got a start....
