  1. I guess taking it at the start of the season is worse because players get traded, dumped and so on....my question is this...who is the photo for?
  2. Tejada , I really think with another Spring training under his belt he will be fine. Will the likes of him be sent to winter ball ?, is that good or bad for his development , maybe he needs a blow after this season.
  3. God bless R.A. Dickey
  4. Strawberry apparently has shown great smarts in managing his new restaurant , I'm throwing him in the mix.

Benjamin Grimm wrote: It just occurred to me that maybe the Mets would consider replacing Jerry with their bench coach, and then I couldn't for the life of me think of who that bench coach might be. I finally had to look it up: Dave Jauss. Has Jauss said or done anything at all this year? Have the Mets ever had a lower profile bench coach? Good point , and I think the one time he took the helm when Jerry got booted from a game Manuel had some comments about an in-game move Jauss made.....can't recall the exact circumstances but Manuel didn't exactly back him up.
  6. it's all rather sad though , Ollie had/has great stuff. I remember Barry Bonds being interviewed years ago when he was in his prime saying that Ollie was the toughest leftie for him to face, his stuff was that good.
  7. Watch the Braves snap him up, he's from that area?
  8. Gee, I don't even know who Carlos Gonzalez is, he's to far ahead in AVG to get caught int that.
  9. If tickets sales are a worry then Bobby has experience in selling them , cycling up and down Flushing drumming up support for the team would hardly be all that different from what he was at in Chiba City.
  10. I'll accept an 89 win season , should be good f or the WC at least.
  11. He's Spanish?.....I really thought he was Italian....

  13. bmfc1 wrote: Nice chart, thanks. I enjoyed your comments. Yes, I meant to comment on that....good work....in regards to your Wally comments...the media guys love him of course but I feel they would love to rip him down too and one reason I think they love him is the hope that he'll mess up while in the big job....it would be a "typical Mets move" then. I take it your comment on his strategic rep is not a good one?
  14. Ceetar wrote: How about Don Mattingly? No freaking way....the manager in waiting out in LA got embarrassed by Boche when he made the two mound visit in that game a while back, no experience and for fecks sake you should know the rule book. Bobby V could recite that thing back to front. How's about Ron Gardenhire?
  15. One of the players that got to third base on a regular basis should be talking up Chip Hale, he was outstanding all year, not many if any fluffed chances right? , and he was aggressive IIRC.
  16. This is the kind of stuff you read every year as another rubbish season comes to a close, but yeah , the pitching staff weere good overall so if Dan stays then fine I guess.
  17. Brian Cashman is a genius.
  18. Fuck's sake .......Louis won't bear to look at him when he's all bandaged up.
  19. LeiterWagnerFasterStrongr wrote: Get this ranty man a Forum invite. (Oh, wait-- I did!) A passionate defense of Beltran, pretty good read. I'll admit to thinking at times that Beltran wishes he never came to the Mets.
  20. Ceetar wrote: (Roberto) Hernandez chilled as he recalled the experience he had shared with Mike Piazza, David Wright and Danny Graves. Two hours of saying thank you didn't seem to be enough. The four Mets were struck by what they saw -- young men missing arms and legs, a man missing a chunk of his skull, another missing the skin on the back of his neck and his head stapled together. . Danny Graves... a real Met and a Vietnam Vet ...take that beat writers..
  21. Pastor Terry Jones will be throwing out the first pitch at hate filled Citi Field .
  22. Ceetar wrote: I'm considering unfollowing on Twitter all the beat writers. . Me too, Lennon has become a proper dick on everything, dumping him right now.
  23. Dying over here.....not that Ollie would care
  24. Fuck you Castillo, fuck you Beltran and fuck you Ollie...fuck you gay people too
